Play’n GO has launched Colt Lightning Inferno, a new video slot set in a storm-filled western frontier where fire and lightning shape gameplay. The release adds to the studio’s 2026 portfolio and continues its focus on visually driven mechanics and feature-led design.
The game reimagines the Wild West as an elemental battleground where lightning cuts across the sky and fire spreads through the landscape. The developer describes it as: “The Colt returns in a blaze of electric fury, charging through a desert landscape split by thunderbolts and rolling storm clouds.”
Animal symbols, including eagles, snakes, and mountain lions, appear as survival markers within the environment, while a mystic horseshoe introduces electrical energy that interacts directly with the reels.
Inferno Core and Storm-Driven Transformations
At the center of Colt Lightning Inferno is the Inferno Core, a system that collects energy-based coins during gameplay and visually reflects rising intensity as they accumulate.
When the Horseshoe lands, it activates Lightning Blaze, converting reel positions into Fire Frames. These transformations affect between three and 20 positions in the base game, reshaping symbol behavior across the grid. The developer explains: “Fire Frames flash onto symbol positions across the reels, transforming them into one animal symbol.”
Fire Balls and lightning effects continue to alter gameplay as the Colt character shifts into more powerful forms during key moments.
Free Spins Expand Reel Structure
Free Spins trigger when three Fire Ball Scatters land on reels two, three, and four. The feature starts with eight spins and expands the reel layout for additional ways to win.
The Colt transforms into the Super Colt during this phase, doubling payouts. Extra Scatters can extend the feature up to 47 spins.
The game description states: “This is no quiet ride into the sunset. This is a charge straight into the Inferno.”
Hold N’ Load and Coin Collection System
Bonus Inferno Coins play a central role in the Hold N’ Load feature, where collected coins feed into the Inferno Core. These coins include Reward Boosts up to x5, Power Boosts reaching x1000, and Mystery Boosts that reveal either type during gameplay.
When triggered, Hold N’ Load expands the grid to a 5x8 layout and begins with three re-spins. Each new coin resets the counter, while additional grid rows unlock as collection thresholds are met.
The system allows multipliers to stack when landing on shared positions, while Extra Boost can add further multiplier values during the feature. The round ends when all positions are filled or re-spins expire.
Award Recognition for the Portfolio
Reactoonz 100 was named Game of the Year at the SBC Europe Awards 2026 in Malta, marking a major milestone for Play’n GO’s long-running series. The award recognised the title’s strong commercial performance, creative ambition, and cultural impact across regulated European markets.
Built on the established Reactoonz franchise, the game delivered sustained engagement following its launch, supported by a high-profile campaign that included a 20th anniversary activation sending the character Garga into space.
Play’n GO noted that the release achieved wide distribution across more than 35 regulated markets and maintained consistent performance well beyond its debut, reinforcing the company’s position in premium casino entertainment.

play n go is always a bit of a mystery provider on my opinion.. they have some really nice titles like the rise of Olympus series then on the flip side they blatantly hide RTP value for most games so be careful cuz depending on the site u may be getting shafted!
