In a strategic move to broaden its international presence, digital entertainment provider Playson has entered into a distribution agreement with Light & Wonder. This partnership will see Playson’s gaming portfolio integrated into Light & Wonder’s extensive operator network, encompassing regions such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and Latin America.
As a result of this collaboration, players in these territories will gain access to popular Playson titles, including Supercharged Clovers: Hold and Win and 3 Pots Riches: Hold and Win. These games are set to enhance the gaming experiences offered by operators within Light & Wonder's network.
Leadership Changes at Light & Wonder
This agreement coincides with significant leadership developments at Light & Wonder. Earlier this month, the company appointed Simon Johnson as the new CEO of its iGaming Division, signaling a renewed focus on expanding its digital gaming operations.
Steve Mayes, Senior Director of Partnerships at Light & Wonder, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "We are delighted to be working with such a highly respected digital entertainment provider and deliver their portfolio to our network."
He emphasized that this partnership reinforces Light & Wonder's dedication to offering top-tier game releases to its operators and hinted at more successful launches in the pipeline for 2025.
Echoing this sentiment, Blanka Homor, Sales Director at Playson, remarked, "Our deal with Light & Wonder is a major milestone in our strategic roadmap, as we embark on the next chapter of our global growth."
She highlighted that the agreement not only broadens Playson’s reach but also enables the company to introduce its engaging titles to new operators and players. Homor expressed confidence that this relationship will further elevate Playson’s presence in the dynamic online casino industry.
Playson's Recent Market Expansions
In addition to this partnership, Playson has been actively expanding its market presence. Earlier this week, the company announced a collaboration with Titanplay, targeting the Canadian market. This move aims to strengthen Playson's footprint in Canada by offering its diverse gaming portfolio to a broader audience.
Furthermore, in January, Playson enhanced its presence in the UK market through launches with prominent Flutter brands, Betfair and Paddy Power. This initiative followed a partnership with Gibraltar-based operator Lottoland, aiming to extend Playson's reach within the European Union towards the end of 2024.
Demonstrating its industry leadership, Light & Wonder was honored with the Online Slot of the Year award at the Global Gaming Awards EMEA 2025 for its game "Squid Game: One Lucky Day." This accolade underscores the company's commitment to delivering innovative and engaging gaming experiences.
The partnership between Playson and Light & Wonder marks a significant step in the expansion strategies of both companies. By leveraging Light & Wonder's extensive operator network, Playson is poised to introduce its acclaimed gaming content to a wider audience across key international markets.
