Playtech has officially rolled out a new digital sportsbook and casino platform in Ireland in collaboration with Bar One Racing, cementing their long-standing relationship with a significant expansion into the digital arena. This launch represents a key milestone in a partnership that has now extended into a new multi-year agreement, deepening Playtech’s role as the exclusive technology provider behind Bar One’s online sports betting and gaming operations.
This enhanced collaboration builds upon a relationship that spans more than ten years, one that began with Playtech supplying retail sports betting software and self-service betting terminals (SSBTs) across Bar One’s retail network. The latest deal introduces Playtech’s cutting-edge digital suite, which now powers the newly launched Bar One Digital offering.
Complete Digital Suite and Operational Services Support
The new Bar One Digital platform is fully supported by Playtech’s comprehensive suite of products and services. These include offerings across sports betting, casino, live casino, lotto, and Playtech’s advanced player tools such as BetBuddy and PTMS. Additionally, a variety of third-party integrations ensure that the platform remains highly competitive and adaptable to evolving customer needs.
A standout feature of this expanded partnership is the inclusion of Playtech’s Operational Services framework. This solution is designed to optimise platform efficiency, bolster customer engagement, and ensure strong risk and payment management protocols. With this infrastructure in place, Bar One is positioned to offer a tailored, secure, and high-performing digital betting experience that aligns with modern consumer expectations.
Aiming for Growth Across the UK and Ireland
Announced previously in November 2024, the four-year agreement not only includes the launch of the digital sportsbook in Ireland but also extends Playtech’s role as the provider of Bar One’s digital betting services throughout the UKand Ireland. This move enables Playtech to deliver its full casino and live casino offerings across both markets, significantly widening the scope of the partnership.
Playtech will also continue to be the exclusive supplier of SSBTs within Bar One’s retail locations, a vital part of Bar One’s ongoing retail upgrade strategy. The recent transformation of Bar One’s physical shops across Ireland—now featuring new state-of-the-art sports betting terminals—has positioned the company for a strong hybrid retail-digital future.
Executive Confidence in a Shared Vision
Yori Arami, VP Sports Commercial at Playtech, expressed confidence in the deepening collaboration, stating, “Bar One has become a driving force in Ireland and we are excited to build on our successful partnership to help them grow further. Our software performance has made this ongoing partnership possible, and the new Digital Sportsbook and Casino proposition further increases the collaboration between the two companies.”
Bar One’s CEO Barney O’Hare echoed this sentiment, noting the importance of innovation in the company’s ongoing transformation: “We are very pleased to extend further our important relationship with industry leader Playtech. With a full and recent upgrade and digitalisation of our entire Retail estate we have installed brand new sports terminals which form a key part of the future success of our company.”
This latest development reinforces both companies’ commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused digital experiences across both retail and online channels.

Solid step for Playtech and Bar One, but in such a packed market it’ll be interesting to see if this move sets them apart or just keeps them in the race.
