Playtech has officially expanded its U.S. iGaming presence by entering West Virginia, marking its fourth regulated state launch. This strategic move reinforces the company’s goal of offering advanced gaming technology and immersive digital entertainment to regulated markets across the country.
The West Virginia rollout includes collaborations with several high-profile operators such as Rush Street Interactive (RSI), DraftKings, Delaware North, and BetMGM. These partnerships grant local players access to Playtech’s award-winning suite of casino games, RNG content, and live gaming experiences. Additional operator collaborations are expected to follow, continuing Playtech’s trajectory of steady U.S. growth.
Focused Growth in a Lucrative U.S. Market
Playtech’s decision to target West Virginia is part of its broader U.S. expansion plan, with the company steadily building a portfolio of regulated operations across the country. West Virginia now joins New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan as states where Playtech content is legally accessible.
Jonathan Doubilet, Vice President of U.S. Business Operations at Playtech, emphasized the importance of this development. “Our expansion into this regulated iGaming state reflects our strong strategic focus on delivering engaging, innovative, and responsible entertainment to players, while supporting our partners with the latest in gaming technology. Supporting our customers across all regulated states and countries in which they operate is at the heart of what we do.”
Doubilet further highlighted the company’s reputation among industry operators, adding: “The trust and confidence they place in us as an agile and scalable partner is what helps in meeting the demands of the ever-expanding US iGaming industry.”
Building on Global Momentum
Beyond its U.S. endeavors, Playtech continues to broaden its international presence. Recent global agreements include a poker partnership with France’s Pari Mutuel Urbain, an expanded collaboration with Hard Rock Digital in New Jersey, and a content deal with High Roller in Ontario. These partnerships underline Playtech’s growing influence and flexibility across multiple jurisdictions.
As the U.S. iGaming market matures, the potential for digital gaming remains substantial. According to the American Gaming Association, U.S. commercial gaming revenue reached $72.04 billion in 2024, with online casino (iGaming) operations contributing nearly $8 billion of that total. With only seven states currently offering regulated iGaming, the market still holds significant room for expansion. In states where legislation hasn’t yet passed, the popularity of alternative formats—like sweepstakes and predictor-style platforms—suggests strong consumer demand for digital gambling products.
With its entry into West Virginia, Playtech not only increases its footprint in an already competitive market but also signals its readiness to support partners across a rapidly evolving landscape.

WV may be small, but it's a solid step in building long-term U.S. momentum. Curious to see which state they’ll tap into next!
