Back Playtech Launches AI Virtual Host for Live Casino

Playtech has introduced Virtual Host, an artificial intelligence-powered addition to its Live casino offering that provides players with real-time guidance and commentary during games.

The technology operates within the live studio environment and aims to add an interactive visual layer to the existing casino experience. Playtech said Virtual Host complements live gaming while retaining the format and atmosphere associated with traditional live casino products.

The launch comes as the supplier also highlights responsible gambling education through its support for the American Gaming Association's Responsible Gaming Education Month, which enters its 28th year in September.

AI Host Adds Real-Time Commentary

Virtual Host uses AI to guide players through each round while providing commentary in real time. Playtech has designed the feature to work alongside the live studio environment and expand the entertainment options available through its Live offering.

The host can also be adapted for individual markets. Operators can customise its appearance, language and presentation style, allowing the technology to fit different audiences and local requirements.

Playtech currently supports English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese through Virtual Host, with further localisation planned for the near future.

The company said the product represents a new development within Playtech Live and could create additional opportunities for operators while extending the entertainment environment available to players.

By integrating the AI-powered host into its live studio format, Playtech aims to add another layer to gameplay without changing the core structure of the live casino experience. The feature also allows the company to broaden the presentation of its Live products through a customisable digital presence that can operate alongside the existing studio format.

Playtech Backs Responsible Gaming Education

Alongside the Virtual Host announcement, Playtech said it supports the American Gaming Association's Responsible Gaming Education Month. The initiative focuses on gambling literacy, consumer education and industry training, while encouraging companies to work with partners to improve their understanding of responsible gambling.

September marks the 28th annual Responsible Gaming Education Month in the United States. The campaign arrives as gambling participation remains widespread across the country and the industry continues efforts to promote safer play.

American Gaming Association Vice President of Research David Forman said almost 60% of Americans gambled in some form last year.

Forman also said the gaming industry has committed about half a billion dollars to responsible gaming programmes. Awareness of the safeguards available to consumers has increased as well, reflecting continued efforts to make information and protective tools more widely known.

Playtech's support for the campaign places its latest Live casino technology announcement alongside a wider industry focus on responsible gambling education.

The Virtual Host can deliver real-time assistance and commentary while allowing operators to tailor the feature for different markets. Its initial language support covers English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, with Playtech planning additional localisation as the product develops.

At the same time, Responsible Gaming Education Month continues to bring attention to consumer awareness and available safeguards. The campaign's 28th edition follows a year in which almost 60% of Americans participated in some form of gambling, according to Forman.
