Pragmatic Play is set to withdraw several products as part of a strategic pivot toward its core strengths. Following an internal review, the Gibraltar-based provider will gradually phase out its sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports offerings, while channeling greater resources into slots, live casino, crash games, and RNG products.
A company spokesperson explained the rationale behind the move: “Following a strategic review, we have made the decision to focus on our core market-leading verticals – in particular, slots, live casino, crash and RNG. These areas continue to demonstrate strong performance and represent the company’s primary long-term strategic focus.
“As a result, Pragmatic Play will no longer offer Bingo and Sportsbook products, following a transition period during which we will support our partners as they migrate to alternative platforms. We are working closely with partners to support this transition.”
The transition will unfold over the coming months, with Pragmatic Play collaborating closely with operators to ensure a smooth migration to alternative solutions.
Pragmatic Play launched its bingo platform in 2018 and entered the sportsbook market in 2022 as part of an effort to broaden its portfolio beyond slots. Since its market debut in 2015, the company has grown into one of the largest content suppliers in online gambling, largely propelled by its slot titles. Over time, live casino, virtual sports, bingo, and sportsbook offerings were added to meet operator demand for comprehensive content solutions.
Industry insiders emphasize that the decision to discontinue certain products was not performance-related. Instead, management opted to concentrate resources on areas where the company already commands significant market share. Both sportsbook and bingo had established distribution through existing operator relationships, yet future growth prospects were judged stronger within casino-focused verticals.
The strategic review underlines live casino as a key driver of Pragmatic Play’s long-term growth. This vertical has become increasingly important in regulated markets, where demand for localized live dealer content continues to rise. Earlier this year, chief revenue officer Mark Maislish noted during ICE that Pragmatic Play planned to open two additional live casino studios as part of its expansion strategy. This follows the launch of a live casino facility in Bogotá, Colombia, in October 2025.
Pragmatic Play has invested heavily in live dealer infrastructure while developing content tailored to specific jurisdictions. Latin America, in particular, has emerged as a critical region as regulation expands and operators seek localized experiences. Sources indicate that the company will continue dedicating substantial resources to studio development, product innovation, and market-specific content.
While retreating from sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports, Pragmatic Play is not scaling back overall ambitions. Rather, resources are being reallocated to support expansion within core verticals. The company plans to continue investing in new product development, international studio networks, localization initiatives, and growth across regulated markets. Slots remain a central pillar of the portfolio, recognized for its industry-leading performance.
