Quickspin Rolls Out Wild Tome of the Woods on September 10th

The next slot release by Swedish online gambling software developer, Quickspin, is called Wild Tome of the Wood and it goes live on Tuesday, September 10th. The game is inspired by ancient woodlands, quirky animals, wonky trees and magic potions which already sounds like a good recipe for huge wins!

In this magnificent fairy-tale, the story revolves around a reclusive wizard named Tom or Middy (short for Midas). The mage lives in Whittlewood Forest, a medieval hunting ground located in Northamptonshire, England. His life-long obsession to turn things into gold hasn’t really been fruitful and some years after a streak of unsuccessful experiments with mixed gold-related spells, the wizard’s Wild Tome has gone completely wild!

Namely, it turns random things into gold, causing him problems of unmeasurable scales! However, in an attempt to prevent further damage, Middy’s friends – Crikey (half frog/half newt), the fox Sylvester 3rd and an owl from Oxford named Eleanor are trying to help with all means necessary. But before they break the spell, why not collect some gold for themselves?

The latest addition to the catalog has four reels, six rows and 26 bet lines which are, of course, accompanied by a swirl of exciting features that turn other symbols into wilds… lots of wilds!

Meeting the Producer, Bjarne

Quickspin’s producer of Wild Tome of the Woods, Bjarne Grönnevik, recently did an interview and shared his insights about the game. Here’s what he had to say about the development process:

“After just a few brainstorming sessions the characters started to take shape, and then their backstories kind of just popped up from our imagination. The owl Eleanor for example, she’s a character who claims she went to Oxford – even though we all know that there’s a distinct difference between “going to” and “being hatched at” Oxford! All these quirky personalities started to come to life, and we had a lot of fun developing them.”

Grönnevik also said:

“The main creative drive behind the game was to create a delightful place with a fun ambiance – a relaxing world that you would happily sit down and enjoy spending some time in. That was the driving force behind all the creative decisions: choosing the location, the lighting, the colour scheme, and the sounds. We really wanted to create an atmosphere where you would feel like you’re in a beautiful oak forest, surrounded by big old trees with golden yellow sunbeams filtering through the treetops.”

A Word from Lead Artist

Michael Spinks, Lead Artist and FX Artist also talked about the company’s newest slot release and said that the studio ended up combining rich woodlands with magic, which ultimately lead to an amazing story - the Wild Tome itself. He said:

“When I was designing this game, I really wanted to give it a fun and happy feeling, and I wanted to give the book as much personality as possible. And being from Nottingham myself, I also wanted it to feel like a magical Sherwood forest.”
