Reflex Gaming Debuts Thor’s Hammer Time Thunder Zone

Reflex Gaming has released a new video slot titled Thor’s Hammer Time Thunder Zone, expanding its Norse mythology-themed lineup with a sequel to its earlier Thor’s Hammer Time game. The UK developer introduced the title on March 11, presenting a high-volatility slot powered by Yggdrasil that blends progressive jackpots with several bonus mechanics.

The 6×3 reel slot features 20 paylines and places players in an Asgard setting inspired by Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Gameplay centers on the Storm Eye, a mechanic that builds momentum as Lightning Prize symbols land on the reels. These symbols help trigger features and unlock jackpot opportunities.

Through the Storm Eye system, players can activate the Jackpot Reels feature. This three-reel bonus round allows progress along jackpot trails for a chance to unlock prizes including Mini, Minor, Major, Ultra or Mega jackpots. At least one of these jackpots is guaranteed during the sequence.

Storm Link Feature Drives The Core Gameplay

A key element in the release is the Storm Link feature, which activates when eight or more Lightning Prize symbols appear on the reels. Once triggered, the standard grid converts into 18 independent reels in a hold-and-spin round.

During the sequence, Lightning Prizes, Lightning Bolts, +1 Respins and X-HAMMER symbols may land. As prizes collect, individual reels can become “thunder zones,”locking in their values. At the end of the round, a progressive thunder multiplier applies to these locked totals.

Lightning Bolt symbols can gather and combine values from active thunder zones, increasing potential payouts as the feature progresses. Filling six thunder zones awards the Mega jackpot instantly.

The game also includes a Golden Bet option, which increases the base bet by 0.25 times and raises the chance of triggering Storm Link and other features. In markets where it is allowed, a Bonus Buy option lets players enter the Storm Link round immediately.

Additional Features And Mechanics

Thor’s Hammer Time Thunder Zone builds on mechanics from the original Thor’s Hammer Time slot, which also used a 6×3 layout with 20 paylines and included Free Spins, Storm Link, a Red Lightningwild bonus and a Pot Pick feature.

Free Spins activate when three or more scatter symbols appear, awarding eight spins and seeding a Hammer Prize based on the number of scatters. Lightning prizes or Hammer symbols landing in active zones award their values and keep the zones active until the feature ends. Bonus symbols on reel six during Free Spins can add three extra spins while doubling the Hammer Prize.

Storm Link can also occur during Free Spins if enough lightning symbols appear. In this version of the hold-and-spin feature, lightning prizes stay locked while remaining positions spin until respin lives expire or the grid fills.
