The Siirto mobile payment application will be withdrawn in late May 2026 as its functionality moves into the Nordea Mobile platform. The transition forms part of a broader update that consolidates payment services into a single application, allowing users to manage daily transactions in one place.
During spring 2026, the Siirto service will be integrated into Nordea Mobile, after which the standalone Siirto app will no longer operate. The shutdown date has been set for 27 May 2026, marking the end of the current app’s availability.
New registrations for the Siirto app have already been halted. Existing users can continue to access the service until 26 May 2026, after which all features will be accessible only through Nordea Mobile.
Transition Brings Payments Into One Platform
The integration aims to centralize commonly used payment functions. Once the change takes effect, users will be able to carry out everyday financial activities within a single interface, replacing the need to switch between applications.
The updated service will maintain the core functionality associated with Siirto. Users will still be able to send money instantly to contacts by entering a phone number. Transactions will continue to process in real time, and payments can be made without requiring card details.
The system also supports online purchases, with availability in around 30,000 online shops. In addition to transfers and payments, the updated version introduces invoice handling directly within Nordea Mobile. This feature enables users to receive invoices without setting up separate e-invoice agreements.
Existing Features Remain In Use Until Closure
Until the app is discontinued, current users can continue using Siirto as before. The service allows individuals to transfer money using only the recipient’s phone number, eliminating the need for account details. When the number is registered within the system, the recipient’s name appears for confirmation.
Transactions between Siirto users are processed instantly at any time of day. All users must verify their identity using online banking credentials, ensuring that payments occur within a secure framework.
The app sets a daily transfer cap of 1,700 euros for outgoing payments. There is no upper limit on the amount a user can receive. Payments can only be sent to Finnish bank accounts that are connected to the Siirto system.
The platform operates through a broader payment network that includes multiple banks and service providers. This structure enables users across participating institutions to transfer funds seamlessly using mobile numbers.
Continued Development Of Siirto Service
Although the standalone app will be retired, the Siirto service itself will remain active as part of Nordea Mobile. The integration reflects ongoing development aimed at simplifying payment processes and expanding available features within a unified environment.
The updated version will continue to support peer-to-peer transfersand online payments, while adding the ability to manage incoming invoices in the same application. This change is expected to streamline how users handle routine financial tasks, bringing transfers, purchases, and billing into a single digital space.

Another app disappears as everything gets merged into one mega app. Convenient for users, but also feels like fewer choices and more dependence on a single platform over time.
