A newly introduced referral feature within the SOFTSWISS Casino Platform has delivered early results, with the company reporting the acquisition of 6,000 players within its first month of operation in 2026. The same rollout also reduced customer acquisition costs by more than one million euros, according to company data.
Built-In Referral Feature Expands Player Acquisition
The Referral System functions as an internal mechanism that allows current users to invite others directly through the platform. Each player can generate a personal referral code, which they can distribute to potential new users. When those users sign up and complete deposit requirements, the referring player receives bonus rewards.
The process remains entirely contained within the platform’s ecosystem. Operators do not need to rely on external landing pages, third-party tracking tools, or additional integrations. This structure allows casinos to maintain oversight while simplifying the referral process for participants.
Operators retain control over how incentives are structured. They can determine bonus amounts tied to specific actions such as registration or deposit completion, as well as set minimum deposit values and wagering conditions. After configuration, the system operates automatically without further intervention.
Operators Report Engagement and Traffic Growth
Adoption of the feature has expanded quickly across the client base. More than half of operators using the SOFTSWISS Casino Platform have already implemented the Referral System. Among those adopters, the most active operator reported that referrals accounted for up to 6% of total site traffic, achieved without allocating budget to paid advertising channels.
Players can monitor their referral activity directly within the platform interface. A dedicated section provides details on code usage, successful registrations, and earned bonuses. This visibility allows users to follow their progress and remain engaged beyond standard gameplay.
From the operator perspective, the system also offers detailed tracking capabilities. The back-office Referrals page shows which referral codes have been used, whether conditions for rewards have been met, and how much bonus value has been distributed. These insights support ongoing analysis by retention and customer management teams.
A company representative described the broader impact of the system, stating: “For operators, the value goes beyond cost savings. Referrals add an effective word-of-mouth channel that works alongside existing marketing. A player who joins on a friend's recommendation already trusts the brand and is more likely to stay and deposit.”
Part of Wider Product Development Strategy
The Referral System forms part of a broader series of updates across the company’s product lineup. Alongside this feature, SOFTSWISS has also introduced the Prediction Markets Platform, a business-to-business solution designed for online casinos and sportsbook operators. This product focuses on event-based wagering, a segment that continues to attract attention within the industry.
The early results from the referral feature indicate that operators are exploring alternative acquisition channels that rely less on traditional advertising. By leveraging existing player networks, the system provides a different pathway for growth while maintaining direct engagement within the platform environment.

I think it is a cool idea and not something unusual, however, depending on the referral system, it can open doors to bonus abuse. So operators will need to have more security measures in place these kind of referral offers, which can be quite lucrative, are not being abused.

Not really surprising, referrals have always been one of the cheapest and most effective ways to bring in players since people trust friends more than ads, but I’m curious how long that growth actually lasts once the novelty wears off and everyone who wanted to share already did.
