Stake has commenced operations in Denmark after obtaining a five-year licence covering online casino and sports betting, adding the Nordic country to its list of regulated markets. The approval allows the operator to provide its casino and sportsbook products to Danish players as part of its broader international growth plan.
The company described Denmark as a mature and well-regulated jurisdiction within Europe’s online gambling sector. With the licence in place, Stake will introduce its established product portfolio to local customers, operating within Denmark’s regulatory framework and incorporating responsible gambling tools and player protection measures that meet national standards.
Founded in 2017, Stake has expanded across multiple licensed territories, offering online casino titles and sports wagering supported by proprietary technology. The Danish launch represents the group’s first move into the Nordic region and forms part of its long-term global expansion strategy.
Headquarters Set for Parken Stadium
From 1 March 2026, Stake Denmark will base its operations at Parken Stadium, Denmark’s national football venue and home to FC Copenhagen. The company confirmed that its Danish division will operate locally under the new licence, managing its activities from the stadium location.
By establishing a headquarters in Copenhagen, Stake aims to embed its presence in the domestic market while delivering its global product suite. Danish players will gain access to the operator’s casino and sportsbook offerings, which the company describes as market-leading and supported by advanced technology.
The business stated that it will maintain a strong local focus as it rolls out services in Denmark, aligning its operations with the country’s established regulatory environment.
Executives Outline Nordic Expansion
Peter Eugen Clausen, Managing Director at Stake Denmark, commented on the significance of the market entry. He said: “Denmark has one of the most well-regulated and competitive gaming markets in Europe, and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting. With Stake’s arrival, Danish players can expect a fresh, world-class experience backed by global scale and strong local focus. We’re raising the bar in terms of product, transparency, and entertainment, and I believe increased competition from brands like Stake will only drive the market forward in a positive way.”
Brais Pena, Chief Strategy Officer at Easygo, the technology company behind Stake, also addressed the development. He said: “Denmark marks our entry into the Nordics and represents a clear win in one of Europe’s most mature and high-value markets. With each new market, our momentum continues to build as we deliver on our global expansion strategy.”
Stake identifies itself as the world’s largest online casino and sportsbook. The Danish licence strengthens its footprint in regulated European markets and provides access to a jurisdiction often cited for its structured approach to online gambling oversight.
The company confirmed that Danish customers can access its casino and sports betting services under the new authorisation, with operations formally anchored in Copenhagen from early March 2026.
