If there was one thing that was constantly making headlines in 2017, what would you say it was? Why, bitcoin of course! This major cryptocurrency was going from strength to strength throughout the course of the year and since its meteoric rise at the beginning of 2017, it hasn't looked back once. Right now, its value stands a $11700 per coin but that is subject to change any minute now – and, judging by the general trend, it can only go upwards.
This, of course, has put bitcoin on the radar far and wide. Certainly not the last to react and recognize its full potential is the gambling industry that is often used as the optimal testing ground for the true success of a currency (crypto or not). A record number of casinos stepped forward this year and introduced the digital currency as a form of deposit and/or withdrawal. Bovada, FairGo, Springbok and a host of other popular online casinos have jumped on the bandwagon and we are glad to report that this tendency still thrives and will most likely climax in 2018.
The latest casino to join this illustrious rank of trailblazing casinos is VideoSlots. In their recent newsletter, they have informed their clients that, as of December 5th, it will be accepting the currency as their preferred banking option – coins can be automatically swapped to a player's local currency, while bitcoin will be the only method of withdrawal in certain jurisdictions.
That's a second revolutionary move in a short span of time for this casino – no more than days ago, it introduced Konami slot games into their portfolio, thus becoming the first European operator to do so.
Are you also glad that more and more casinos are professing their loyalty to bitcoin? Are online casinos and bitcoin a match made in heaven or is this pairing less significant than it's made out to be? Shout it out in the comments…

In my opinion, for a casino as well oiled as Videoslots.com is, this is the better way. Why should you risk unnecessary discrepancies, friction or the like with customers, which would certainly not infrequently occur with the current fluctuations in the value of bitcoin.

This is an important step for videoslots, it was the time to adopt bitcoin and i'm just wondering when the casinos will also accept more cryptocurrencies, not only the BTC. I'm almost sure that cryptocurrencies are the future of the online casinos and accepting this payment method is a must in our days.
