Women in Gaming Diversity Awards Honors IGT With Diverse and Inclusive Team of the Year Accolade

In London, the tenth annual Women in Gaming Diversity Awards ceremony was held and, among others, International Game Technology (IGT) was pronounced a winner – the giant company was commended for its contribution to the cause as it took home the Diverse and Inclusive Team of the Year award!

This global awards program was conceived in order to honor the excellence of promoting diversity and inclusion in the iGaming industry.

Empowering Women in a Significant Way

IGT has a special Woman's Inclusion Network in its Las Vegas branch (“WIN with IGT Las Vegas”)...

...and it is this very team that was hailed as one of the few that successfully empower women – through networking, professional development and opportunities in mentorship.

IGT Vice President Diversity and Inclusion, Kim Lee, commented on the occasion:

“I am tremendously proud of the work that the member-led WIN with IGT Las Vegas group is doing to advance diversity and inclusion within IGT.”

This highly specialized branch within the company was founded in 2018...

...and is only one of several Employee Business Resource Groups in it. In its first year, this group (which is led and managed by company employees) achieved numerous milestones: it successfully kick-started the Comfort one parking for pregnant women, deployed Lean In circles and took part in multiple community events for the benefit of Las Vegas’ female population.

London – a Promised City

In their previous appearance in the English capital, this multi-channel specialist has displayed a dazzling variety of products, releases and other innovation during the London ICE event.

Imagined as a way of enhancing digital growth...

...these creations, presented under the slogan, “Your Best Bet,” have been demonstrated by the company and include a “deep and broad” repertoire of digital products. Commenting on the occasion, CEO Walter Bruno, said:

“IGT’s ICE portfolio represents the Company’s position as a performance-driven organization, and its success in leveraging global game studios to deliver highly localized content for our gaming, lottery, and digital customers from all geographies.”

A Slight Drop in Revenue

In late May, company officials have publicly released the financial figures for this year's first quarter.

According to them, the multinational brand reported a 5% drop in annual income, as a result of smaller revenue coming from gaming operations.

The first three months of 2019 generated $1.14 billion in revenue for the company...

...with $991 million generated in service revenue. Product sales also dwindled by 4% year-on-year to $153.9 million. The company's unit in Italy proved to be most successful, as it amassed $437 million, although it also marked a significant drop of 10% on a yearly basis.

IGT's second-largest unit, North American Lottery, generated $296 million, although it was offset by a 13% decline in lottery product sales.
