Back in the day, Bitcoin conquered the iGaming sector due to providing an anonymous online gambling experience, but things have changed ever since. Nowadays numerous online casinos require players to submit documents for ID verification, and non-US-friendly Spellwin Casino is one of them.
Wanting to bring players more insights on KYC and evaluate the efficiency of Bitcoin transaction processing, our tester registered, deposited, provided documents, played some games, and attempted to cash out. What happened during the investigation was the least to say a total mess, but the outcome was, luckily, positive.

Registration
Having filled in a simple sign-up form in less than a minute the tester successfully registered at Spellwin Casino. An important rule players should be aware of is that after 180 days of inactivity, a service fee may be applied. (Terms 2.3.6)
Deposit
After quick and simple registration the next thing to do was to deposit EUR 200 in BTC. He did so by accessing the “Crypto deposit” tab.
Deposit options include VISA, MasterCard, Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity, flexepin, cryptocurrencies, and a couple of others, depending on the country a player accesses from. The minimum amount to deposit is EUR 20, but it may vary depending on the method selected.
ID Verification
Following registration and deposit, both hassle-free the tester went on to complete KYC. He accessed the “Verification” tab under his profile and uploaded an image of his passport, after which he was required to complete something that’s called a “liveness” check. It’s more or less similar to standard photo and video verification, except a player is required to turn their head slowly in a circle following the green indicator.
According to the Terms, if the verification is not finished within 90 days, the account will be closed. (Terms 2.3.5)
Gameplay
As soon as these three steps were completed he immersed himself into the operator’s well-equipped lobby. The first game he checked out was Boat Bonanza Christmas, followed by Lady of Fortune Remastered and Baron: Lord of Saturday. The next in line were Epic Fish Adventure, Jawsome Pirates, and Thai Blossoms, the lattermost of which was marked with a win of EUR 60.36.
He then played 7x7 Zeus, Tropicool 3, Pirots 3, and Pirots. The tester also checked out Pirots 2 and scored multiple wins, the largest of which amounted to EUR 73.85.
Withdrawal & KYC
Two days later the tester attempted to make a cashout request of EUR 394 but he couldn’t, because the notification stated that the amount requested was bigger than the one he was permitted to cash out. Having contacted the support department, he was informed that 3x wagering was still unmet. (rule exists in Terms 5.6 as well)
For that reason, he accessed Pirots 2 again and landed a win of EUR 89.60, after which he played Sobek’s Godly Spins. The final game he launched was 3 Hot Chillies which was marked with a EUR 87 win.
As the mandatory wagering was finally met, he requested EUR 428 in BTC on the same day.
What needs to be mentioned here is that when the tester accessed his profile, the status that was displayed there was “verified”, however, the account status was still “pending”.
On the very same day, an e-mail arrived to inform him that ID verification wasn’t successful. He was required to upload the ID document in which all four corners were visible. The casino also informed the tester that the balance requested was returned due to unsuccessful verification.
The tester checked the profile again on December 9, 2024, spotting the same notification. To find out what was the issue this time, he contacted the live chat support department which informed him that the verification was finished successfully.
At the same time, the tester inquired about the duration of withdrawal request processing, and he was informed that the process usually takes 72 business hours. While this is more or less common practice, it’s important to note that the financial department of Spellwin Casino works only 9 hours a day- weekends and public holidays excluded.
Despite being informed that he had successfully passed the automatic verification, the tester was asked to provide a utility bill no older than 3 months, with his name and address visible. On December 10, 2024. He followed the instructions, and a day later he was informed that the verification was completed successfully.
Meanwhile, when he checked the cashier, the tester noticed that the cashout request was labeled as “completed” on December 9, 2024. That wasn’t correct, as he was previously told that verification must be completed before a request can be made.
A couple of days went by, and on December 16, 2024, the tester inquired about his withdrawal request. All he got were some generic excuses which included technical and financial issues, heavy workload, and so on.
The tester inquired once again a day later, and this time, he was told that the administration has the right to make individual schedules for payments, minimum and maximum amounts, and processing time. Yet, he was also promised that his request would be finalized on December 18, 2024, and so it happened.
The tester received USD 449.57/ 0.00431193 BTC.
As far as the Terms indicate, only one withdrawal request can be in pending status at a time. (Terms 6.13)
Withdrawal methods are similar to those that are available for deposits. The minimum cashout limit is EUR 20, or an equivalent sum in other supported currencies. (Terms 6.15). Maximum withdrawal limits are more or less in line with the industry’s average. (Terms 6.11)
Amounts larger than EUR 20,000 will be divided into monthly installments, but that rule doesn’t apply to winnings from progressive jackpots. (Terms 6.14)
Conclusion
Processing time of 72 business hours wouldn’t be so problematic by itself, but at Spellwin Casino it comes with a catch- the financial department works only 9 hours per day. With such a schedule, a player could potentially be kept waiting for over 10 calendar days, just like it happened to our tester.
Confusing payment-related rules are not the only weaknesses discovered at this place- the customer support department could use some significant improvement as well.
Having all these red flags in mind, we advise extreme caution when visiting Spellwin Casino. Gamble responsibly and keep a close eye on our channel for more genuine video reviews to be added soon!
