  • Hi.  If anyone knows....I'm about to request a withdrawal of some  winnings at Slots Plus (for the first time).  Do any of you know if it's secure to request a wire transfer into my bank account?  I mean, I'm giving them my checking account number and so forth, but are there safeguards to keep anyone from revisiting the account later?  I know, I sound paranoid, but we are talking online gambling here.  I've usually gotten courier checks in the past....would that be a better bet?  Anyone???

  • Hi there RoadrageinWY.  That's not something I can help with not being in the US.  I'm sure someone on this forum will be able to offer you some advice.

I will say that from what I've seen about wire transfers on the forum, this is the preferred option for players.

    Good luck.

  • Seeing how Main Street seems pretty comfortable actually doing a lot of there dirty work within the US.  I would give them a thumbs on giving them either my account information or requesting a check.  Most of my wires and credit cards have either been processed within the US or Canada.  None of this silly Beijing, Phillipines, Egypt, or whatever other scary 3rd world country this might process out of.  If you feel paranoid about giving account information, you can always do a check.
I just feel way more comfortable about wires or western unions than a check.  No chance of either of them bouncing.

  •         Hey Cheetah, do you know what the limits are on wires, ACH, etc.  I know if it's below a certain amount the banks won't give you a hard time.  If it's above x amount I think there's more paperwork involved.    Most I ever did was an ACH a long time ago for $2750 --didn't have any problems, just a fee
    for the incoming transfer.

  • Basically if your getting a wire, the bank has all of the information it would need to process any sort of paperwork anyways.
Basically an cash transactions that total over $5,000 in one shot, require a form to be filled out and kept on file at the bank.  In the case the IRS is looking for hidden money.
If you do over $10,000 in transactions total on a 10 day rolling period.  This will also trigger for them to fill out a form, to keep on file for the IRS.
Basically as long as your wires, check, western unions, ACH's, etc are under $4,999 and less than $9,999 in any given 10 day period. You'll be fine.  It's when it's over these limits is when you'll have issues.
