20 years together....

Hey Gang,

Funny little story I have to tell ya. This month my hubby and I have been married for 14 years and have been together 20 years. June 22nd is the day we got married and the day we met. So this year my hubby took the day off from work so we could spend the day together. We were taking our daughter to school and she asked "Dad why are you not at work, your not sick." So my hubby replied, " I am taking a personal day, mom and I have been together 20 years today. So I want to spend the day with her." So we dropped her off at school and went to breakfast. During breakfast the school nurse called and said "Mrs. Hofsdal, I have Hannah here, she is asking to take a personal day because she isn't sick but doesn't want to be here." I laughed and asked if I could speak with her, she get on the phone and says " Look, if dad can take a personal day I can too, the WII is calling my name, my school work isn't. Come get me please."

I could hear the nurse laughing in the backround, and I said "You have to have a job to get personal days, so I guess your going to have to stay in school. And you only have 2 days left before summer vaction. My daughter replies " Isn't that something, I ask for a personal day and I don't get one, you get married and you get what you want. Time for me to get a husband. Bye Mom."

Thanks for all the wishes everyone. It has been for the most part the most wonderful 20 years with my hubby. I wouldn't change a thing.

My daughter is only 9 but the time went by fast. Today was her last day of school, she was promoted to 4th grade. When I picked her up from school today I was informed "MY brain needs a break" so I said okay you don't need to think when your cleaning your room. This is her reply..

"You think it is easy cleaning my room. Did you ever think how hard it is for me to move things around to make it look like I cleaned it? Mom, I need a break, I want to go home have a snack and take a personal day without my mothering bothering me."

What the hell can I say to that? So she got her personal day atlast, so tomorrow the work on the bedroom begins... BAHAHAHAHAHA

hahahhaha mine is 8 and going on 17, mine would also say something just like that.

Makes you think how those little brains work. Gotta love the things they say!!!

Thanks everyone, I think I did hit the Jackpot when I finally told my hubby I would go out on a date. You see, I have know my hubby almost my whole life, he is my older brothers best friend. But when I was 16, I thought my hubby was the biggest dirt bag. He would come over to my house to see my brother and I would make him wait outside and tell him " Sorry  I don't allow dirtbags in my house." No joke told him that many times. I moved away to go to college, and met my first boyfriend and was engaged to him. 4 months before we were to get married I left him. He was controlling and abusive. So I went to my parents house because my father owned a gun shop and I felt safe going there. Then about a month later my brother told me we were going out on a double date. We have been together ever since. When I got married my brother wrote in my card " Just remember, you married a DIRTBAG" bAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Have never been happier.
