7.2 EARTHQUAKE CALIFORNIA

WOW I felt it in a highrise condo overlooking the ocean. The building just rolled back and forth it seemed like forever as my neighbors were running out of the bldg i could not cause I love my cats and was chasing them around my condo, trying to find their cat carriers. I finally got them in the carriers and it stopped. Looked over the balcony and my neighbors were in front on the lawn. The aftershocks have been 5.4 and 5.0 rolling no jumping, I think those are the worst. Me and kitties are ok for now

yep, I was spinning inside my room and the house was shaking.  I didnt know what to do cuz I've never experienced it before, so I just ran outside for 10 min, lol.  And no major damange I've seen yet and this is in San Diego.

Actually it was kind of funny watching me chase the cats and of course they don't stay together they were running in opposite directions like I had to choose which one i loved more. But got them both finally. I was in the Northridge quake and even though it was only 6.6 it was terrible that was a jump and drop one. Like the bldg lifted up and dropped. This was more rolling if you were standing still you would have hit the wall it was a fast roll like teter totter not slow roll where you can walk.  :D I think I felt it more cause i am a straight shot from the coast down from Baja where the epicenter was. One thing we do get here is the Tsunami warnings after the earthquakes that is scary.

They are saying this could be a precursor to the big one. I am sleeping with the cat carriers on my bed oh and the cats too.

Wow...I am so glad everyone's okay. It's just funny, My family,we were talking about going to San Diego today but my back hurt so bad so we decided not to go...
Lucky, I would have been the same as what you did...talking about cat, I have three and I also have two kids...you know what I mean...I will probably go crazy.

glad everyone is ok so, my aunt lives in riverside and i haven't heard from her yet.  i imagine she is fine, I didn't see any buildings falling on the news.  lucky- I seriously hope this is not a precursor to the big one!!!

Hope that nothing more occurs. We had the "Great Spring Break Quake" here in Oregon years ago..I know what you mean by "Rolling" and not "jumping (Ours was a bit of both)

Let's hope all stays well and those in the epicenter are ok too...Prayers headed south for them.

I grew up in cali, felt many of them.. one of the scariest feelings you can feel..  :'(

Man, and I thought snowstorms were bad.  Glad you are fine.

I can only try to imagine what it is like to be in an earthquake lucky8s.  It must be pretty scary.

I cant imagine going thru a earthquake, and what that would feel like.  Here in Michigan we dont get those and I am thankful. (we have to deal with tornados)

Sigh of relief there was such few casualties.  It has to be very scary wondering when and if its the big one when it happens.

theres not much one can do against those terrors of nature, only go live somewhere else maybe, but every region has its own bad things:)
maybe if another earthquake comes, you can jump real hard on the ground, and make some sort of counter-quake, i believe thats how the hulk would do it

I think earthquakes are the scariest thing that one can encounter. Where do you go when the ground below you starts moving. No warning ahead of time of when it will hit or how strong it will be...scary stuff.

I lived in the Midwest years ago and we had tornado's....scary also, but you have a little warning and usually a basement to go to.

Now I live on the coast (hurricane alley). We usually warned days ahead and can prepare and leave before anything happens.

I think I'm going to stay here..safer than most places..lol. Unless an earthquake somewhere sends a tsunami, then I'm screwed  :'(

LOL unless an Earthquake sends a Tsunami..... Now thats a BAD Day!! 

Today a 7.9 quake hit Malaysia.

Laguna I think we r neighbors SC - Orange County. I think that is why we felt it more cause that quake came straight down the coast.
