A huge "HATS OFF" to Parents from PMM.

Hi Gang:
    As some of you know I have been staying at my brothers house helping out with my Nephew Drake while my brother recoups from a small surgery.

Also, as most of you know, I do not have any children of my own, so I was ill prepared to take on this "job" I was asked to do.  lol

I have been at it for about 4 days now. Changing diapers, bathing, feeding, and most of all chasing him around as he is one and a half.  Playing, watching TV, and reading is what I now spend my time doing.

I have never been so tired in my entire life!!!! haha  There just isnt enough time in each day to get it all done. 

As each day has passed I began to think about my friends here at LCB who have children. I just had to write this and give them a HUGE applause. Taking care of children is a incredibly exhausting job.  I just cant say enough to tell them that I admire them for the job they do each day. 

My time with Drake has taught me many things.  Just when I feel I am sure to drop, he looks at me and smiles, runs up and hugs my legs.  It melts my heart, and I suddenly find the time and energy to read another book, take another walk, or change another diaper. 

This time with Drake is precious to me, as I am sure all parents would feel about each day with her young child, as they grow up so fast.

He is sleeping now as I write this, and he is so sweet. I listen to his breaths and smile at the day behind me.  Soon he will wake up to start again, and I better be ready.

Again, I just have to say a huge "Hats off" to all the parents out there.  Taking care of a child is the hardest thing I have ever done.  I've worked tuff jobs in the past, or so I thought, till I began to take care of Drake.  Yet, in the quiet of the night, like now, and I can hear his breathing so sweet, it is all worth it, and I know I am loved. 
There is not a greater feeling I have ever experienced.

Kudos to you Pam for doing that for your brother. Yes it's alot of work, long hours, and alot of stress..but at the end of the day, I wouldn't have it any other way

When you said "i can hear his breathing so sweet, it is all worth it".. even though you are so exhausted, you can't wait for tomorrow.. it's the strangest thing a child is.. magic and wonder, they bring us to the closest, sincerest, and unconditional part of love we can imagine...

Aww PMM..hats off to you too.  It's true, just when they've drove you crazy then they smile and say something ridiculous and cute and you love them all over again.

I have really missed your post's. They are so well written. That is very sweet of you to do that for your brother and your nephew!

What a way with words you have.  A beautiful thought provoking post....I loved those days when they are so little and rely on you so much.  Nothing is stronger than a mother's love for her child and I truly believe you had a taster.

What a great post! And so true...as exhausting it is, it's worth every sweat,tear, scream, scare, and ounce of annoyance your children give you. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Pam my friend you have a poetic soul.  What a beautiful post. Kids are definitely the toughest job in the world but OMG it is soooooooooooooo worth every second. I'm looking at my little angel asleep in her swing and she is so adorable I just want to squinch her hehehehe.  Although I'm sure that's probably not a good idea hahaha ;).  Thanks Pam for another amazing post

Now, now...you must know what all my whining was about...heh heh!

Taking care of a young toddler is a never an easy job but the joys and fulfillment at the end of the day watching him/her sleeping peacefully makes every troubles he caused all washes away...that's how I start my next day, again prepared for what's coming...
