a three year gamble seems to have paid off

Some of you who have been around for awhile may know I've been a little unhealthy lately and had applied for disability with the social security administration.  It got pretty bad, I was not even well enough to make it here to post.  Glad to report my health is improved, but wait, there's more!

Today I had my disability hearing and it looks like I won!  Won't have the official notification for a couple of weeks, but then things should be a lot easier for me financially and for getting quality healthcare.  And internet at home!

I was really skeptical about my chances, but this week I won a contest on facebook from a tv station, free spins at platinum reels, $20 free at Cleo's, and now this.  Gotta say I am anxious to actually be able to deposit and am hoping my winning streak stays strong and spreads it's love to each and every one of you!

I am crossing my fingers for you Chilly and congrats on your wins, I hope it turns into a very nice cash out for you. I hope to see you here regularly again  :'X .

Maybe I should sit on my hands and not post.

1st - Very glad to hear your health is getting better!  That is indeed awesome news.
2nd - I am happy your disability went through.  I know, from work, it is a pain in the butt..forms, time, etc. to qualify.
3rd - hmmm.... disability payment to fund gambling.  I have feelings about that one but will now sit on my hands.

Sounds like things are going right for you Chilly which is a great thing to hear and I'm really pleased for you. 

If you do get your disability which will no doubt be backdated, please don't waste it gambling. Set aside an amount and don't go over that.   

Do let us know when you get the result in writing. 

Thanks, folks, very wise comments. I've made a few plans for my money so far.  Pay my property taxes. I am behind quite a bit.  Pay off the vehicle.  Go with my daughter and her kids to visit my youngest daughter in Florida.  We haven't seen her in a few years.  Help my son out-he has been diagnosed with neuro fibromatosis and has a tumor in his spine and now one in his brain. 

I also plan to catch up with outstanding medical bills.  Hopefully the government will help with this back to some point. 

My daughter says I can now afford a divorce.  I can get one every month now if I want to.  Lol.  But instead of jumping right in I am going to sit on that impulse and give a chance to Jake to see how we do with less financial trouble.

Gambling will be limited for me.  But I do hope to maybe play with real money at least once a month.  My deposits are usually around $25.  Not really a big spender and its pretty much my only entertainment expense.  Y'all can keep tabs on me because you will be hearing all about my wins as they come along.

I'm so glad to hear that your health has improved and that you're going to be getting the payments you deserve I hope your health continues to improve and you have a good year!

***UPDATE***

It's official.  I've been disabled since November 19, 2012.  My lawyer is paid.  I am now on hold for my check and for medical assistance, which I hope will pay the $30,000 I owe for this second pacemaker!  And I can pay off my property taxes, get my much needed medical and mental health care, and start playing bingo again a few times a month!  Thank you guys for sticking in there with me!

You folks are awesome.  Even more good news.  No waiting for months.  The back pay hit my bank account last night.  Such a relief.  I actually had to deal with the county yesterday about them being in the process of putting a lien on my home.  Today they get paid, I've got a savings account opened, and the pressure is indeed lifted.  It was a really long 3 years and I feel much better with it being behind me.

So glad to hear that Chilly, I'm very happy that things got sorted out for you.

I know from experience, not being able to work and waiting on disability can be very tough.  However, it sounds like you are getting your ducks in a row and will be able to breathe deep and live a normal life!

It was really chilly in your life this few past years, but now (at least financially) it will smell as mellow! 

Well, it's been amazing, that's all I can say.  And I did probably spend a little too much gambling, but if you've been seeing my posts, it's been remarkably rewarding for me in more than just monetary ways.  I'm happy to break even, and here I've been hitting jackpots and getting $500 spins, and made it to the top of the steamtower.  I can tell it's going to slow down soon, so I am thankful for the fond memories.  It's great to be on top of things for a change.  God is GREAT!  He could have let me crash and burn but instead I am settling in.
