BAD day all around....grrrrr

Need a venting moment.

Woke up with the flu and a fever of 101.7 (feel awful)

Rained yesterday with sleet and snowed 6 inches overnight....yep ice under the snow

Daughter got stuck.. has to help her in the freezing cold wind with my fever.  :-&

Had to pick up son#2 from school to go to a tournament.. an idiot pulled in front of me
and I swerved across the rode and my truck went over the median....stuck!  >:(  Got out in the freezing cold wind (shh. had my pajamas under my coat) to dig out the truck.

Won $200 on a tourney last night and lost every damn cent.  >:(

Son #1 age 14 has ALWAYS played traveling baseball.  Tried out last week and the results were posted tonight.  He didn't make it.   :'(  He was in tears!  
2 hours of crying and bording hysterics.

Son#2 gets to play in the basketball All Star game  BUT  he didn't make traveling baseball either and I have to tell him in the morning.  :'(  :'(


Vent over.... until tomorrow.

Just need to add... what the hell are we going to do with our summer?

Son plays 40 games with practices 4 times a week.  All of his friends are going to play. I feel awful for him.

Ditto for son #2

What a bad day you had.  Hope the venting helped and you feel better soon.

Sorry your sons are so disappointed.  It's hard to see that when you're a Mum.

So sorry Gabby for your miserable day,sounds like the day from h__l!! And like kattboots said hopefully they will be able to play elsewhere.There's nothing worse than watching your child in pain..be it physical,mental or matters of the heart!! Hopefully today will be better for all of you.

Gabby....rought day!  Vent away!  But....be thankful you are not in Japan right now.  Your kids may have had some rough breaks, but they aren't impoverished children in Dar Fur.  You, like just aboue everyone on LCB, are very blessed people.  VERY blessed.

Lots of tears and anger this morning but we will get through it.  Poor 8th grader wanted to stay home and not have to tell all his buddies he didn't make it.

Mind Doc... as I was typing last night I thought about Japan and how trivial our trials are compared to theirs which is, of course, very true.  That being said, it doesn't make things dealing with our own childrens unhappiness any easier.



And yes.... they can play on the American League....not the same, but something.

I know exactly what you are going through...sometimes I feel like living in the dramas of chaos and been in the situation(s)you re in now as well.
But it's significantly more difficult when it comes to our children, things get to you in a heart wrenching way and make us feel so helpless.
It's hard to watch our little ones taste their first failing deeply...even though we know they will pass and move on eventually and  we as adults,knowing those experiences are so necessary for our children to learn this lesson as one of growing pains but still hurts to see their frustrations and disappointments...because when they are hurting, we are hurting even deeper inside.
I honestly believe that they must taste these bitterness to know and appreciate the sweetness but it's still hard.

Hope you re feeling much better especially the fever finally broke down and your daughter is safely home without catching a bug in the cold out there.

Gabby....Oh, yes...it does hurt when it is our kids.  I'm a single dad with lots of kids in my house, so I really can relate to you. 

But, one thing I try to keep in perspective....our kids NEED bad/disappointing things to happen to them to prepare them for life.  So, it is a mixed blessing.  When one of my kids hurts, part of me grieves, but another part of me rejoices because he/she is being prepared for life....which is number 1 on our parental job description.  (Loving them should be assumed!)
