  • I wanted to see if one of the casinos I play at was current on their audit so I read the certificate they had posted on their site. It was up to date and looks good however, if you read carefully it seems that the auditor is "given" data logs by the casino that "represent" actual game play. It seems the certificate is either worded poorly or that the auditor is actually provided data logs by the casino. In my opinion, a genuine audit would take the data from anonymous game play from random games on the casino so that the data could not be manipulated.  Below is the actual certificate (casino name changed)

The Certified Fair Gambling seal is provided to those casinos that are willing to submit to ongoing fairness audits of their casino gaming software. Games audited at "whatever" Casino for the month of August 2022 include:
    • Table Games
    • Video Poker
    • Keno
These audits are conducted by examining the complete data log files provided by "whatever" Casino and supplied to Certified Fair Gambling for the explicit purpose of conducting an independent audit of game fairness. In our opinion, the log files provided fairly and accurately represent the actual and total play. The audits conducted demonstrate that the casino games are operating in a manner that is statistically indistinguishable from the same games as offered in a brick and mortar casino. We conclude that the casino games offered by "whatever" Casino are operating in a manner that is statistically stable, un-biased and fair.

    What are your thoughts?

  • You should contact the support service of the casino.

  • who knows mate,  I certainly hope its legit

  • I just find it a bit odd that this casino will state that the games are certified fair however none of the audits are performed on any slot machines. Why would they not submit any slot machine data when slots are by far the games most played?  There is really only one reason for not providing the data.

  • Online gambling is an incredibly popular and profitable business model. Because the industry is expanding rapidly, the governmental bodies of many states are forced to create regulatory frameworks to facilitate the licensing of gambling services. However, since casino games are banned in some countries, most licenses allowing remote services are issued by authorized bodies of offshore states. In general, the license is the first weighty factor determining an establishment's honesty and transparency, such as an online casino <Link removed by Moderator Dzile> The flickering banners and ghostly promises are wise to ignore.

Well said and I completely agree. I think that most people that play online casinos are not aware or know how to check if a casino has been properly audited. I, myself am just beginning to know what to look for and this information is not easily obtainable. Nearly 100% of online casino reviews are paid advertisements. Also, reviews from forums such as this one, do mention if a casino is certified but never explain that not all the games are certified which can give players the assumption that all the games are certified.  I wish I was informed about these things before making any deposits and I no longer play at the casino I referred to in my OP.

  • Do you mean that the auditor should take data from the casino himself and shouldn't use data provided by the casino? I don't see how it will make a difference. If you suppose that the data provided by the casino are tampered, then what prevents the casino from tampering other data? Anyway, I don't know how it works, but I suppose that the auditor should have a way to verify if the data provided by the casino are authentic.

It would seem to me that the data should be taken from actual game play to prevent the chance of any tampering. My real point is that this casino does not audit any slot machines on their site which should be a red flag for anyone that plays slots there..

  • Humm interesting ......I would definitely do so more research into it.

  • Well, I am certainly for some type of real world anonymous testing too. But how is the auditor gonna do it? Give money to the employees to gamble anonymously and report back? :) And than, how many bets are they going to make, how much money should they gamble away to determine if the game is working as intended? I don't really think its reasonable to expect auditor to do things like that. Actually, in all fairness, the closest thing you can get to what you mentioned is LCB's From the Players for the players project, as you have players like yourself anonymously testing casinos. But even than, you cannot really test the games themselves, since you have to make quite the number of bets to actually make any determination about how the games are functioning.

Now, on the other hand, is that kind of testing really needed for most casinos? Because, vast majority of casinos have no control over the games anyway. You have a software provider, which has the games on their server and full control over them. And than you have the casino, which in most cases is there to handle your balance, bet requests, bet sizes etc. Casino has the game logs you are talking about, but they cannot influence the way they have been created. In other words, when you hit the spin button on a slot, job of the casino is to deduct the bet amount from your balance, to receive the outcome of your bet from software provider, and to adjust your balance according to the outcome of your bet. The outcomes are handled by the software. And these are audited separately from the casinos.

Some software providers allow their clients (operators/casinos) to alter RTP of the games slightly. This is now a known fact, and it is allowed, just as its allowed in brick and mortar casinos. But even than, operator cannot control how the games works, they can just decide upon a certain RTP configuration for the game, and than they cannot fiddle with it just about whenever they want to.

So for the most part, with everything I mentioned in mind, I am fine with casinos providing logs for the auditor.

I understand what you are saying and I would most likely be fine with data given from the casino BUT are you also fine playing games that are not audited? Im really trying to point out the fact that players should inquire on the games they are playing and at least know if they have been certified or not. The casino I was playing at did state that they were certified but when I looked deeper into it none of their slots were included for the audit. This bothered me since about 95% of the games on the site were slots. Only 5% of the games there are certified and this is not acceptable to me and it shouldn't be acceptable for anyone else.

  • Maybe slot games aren't audited because there are a lot of them.

  • We can look at this another way. Lets look at the "warnings and blacklist" page  HERE. Scrolling down this page seemingly endless, you can start to realize how many casinos are cheating players. And this page is only representing "caught" casinos, imagine how many others that haven't been caught yet.. Now lets look again at the casino  questioned in the OP that is clearly not auditing their slot games and ask yourself if you should trust depositing there.

  • Well I appreciate the "thanks" KingNemo. The reason I started this thread was because after playing at some online casinos for some time (a year or more) I noticed that I was able to cash out on some but some I was never able to cash out at. So, I began to look into the casinos that I never cashed out on and the very first one I looked at I noticed they dont audit their slot machines. Therefore, I felt like games were manipulated to never let the player come out on top. I thought LCB would be a perfect forum to make other players aware of this and to tell them to always check first before depositing. To be honest I thought LCB was doing this already when they review casinos. However, from the reviews I have seem by LCB staff they are only reviewing the sign up procedure, deposit and withdraw methods and times to complete them but I never see them mention if they are up to date with audits. Anyways, I wont be updating this thread with what I found about other casinos that dont audit their slot machines because I feel like this topic doesnt sit well with the moderators.

  • Hi SinMore,

We are always welcome to constructive criticism and suggestions so please don't shy away from that. This is why our forums exist. However we would like to give you assurance too that we are doing the best we can with being as transparent as possible with all online casinos on this platform. We would also like to let you know that we do our best to audit all these casinos before adding them on LCB. We test their software providers and slot games to ensure we are not adding a brand with fake games. Furthermore this is an ongoing project, this industry never sleeps and there will always be work for us to update and stay relevant with. We are glad you are here to enjoy the ride with us and share your experiences and knowledge.

  • I posted a question on the "casino support" page for Lincoln Casino about my issue here but unfortunately they haven't responded yet but we shall see!
