Cat tips anyone?

Well, the Xmas tree is up...so, this means another year for my cat to climb it, claw it, pick all the decorations off it.
Any tips on how to get it to stop?
I've tried water bottles, vinegar bottles, yelling and clips in the noggin (not hard, PETA)...and it looks at me, goes back to whats its doing, or skidders off, and giggling if it could, til it skulks back in 5.
What do you guys do?

Honestly, I always have a funny looking tree because I don't hang ornaments down low enough for the cat to get them.

BTW if you want to teach it a nifty trick, take cat to door, take arm of it and tap knob and then put it outside. Inside of 3 weeks this is how it'll tell you it wants out. Yes, I did it and my Mother thought that was pretty smart. He later moved in with sister and TAUGHT another cat this!! Now THAT'S smart!

lmao, sounds good...however, the very first thing it learned on its own was how to open doors, the little bugger....hop, hold, click, open

I hang ornaments for the cats at the bottom of the tree - they're not the prettiest but the cats can play with them. I use the same ones every year so they know those are theirs.

i have to cats      each year they bring my christmas tree to fall.
lol that is funny to see    how they jump and jump until the christmastree is down

Im in the same boat as you 13oclock. I have three cats, and even though they are older, there is something about a Christmas Tree that they can't help themselves. 

I have, well I had, the cutest little village set up with all the little people and such. Cotton batting for snow looking ground, they whole works. Then one of my cats decided it was just all to pretty.  She went in, sat right in the middle of town square, knocked over all the people,  ripped up the cotton batting, and left the town in shambles. After she left, it looked like a hurricane had went thru. All the little people on thier sides needing medical attention. HA  There were three casulties, as they feel off the table I had it on and broke off some of their body parts.
I have yet to set it up again.

LOL.. I'm here to tell ya... Theres no way to keep the Cat out
of a tree.. they just go together..!
But i sure love this post, brings back so many many memories.
