        Most of us use much effort in life to avoid unnecessary risk, So why do we love to gamble so much?

          I do not consider myself a risk taker, But I love to gamble.
                    Anyone else see themselves like this? 


    I would never sky dive,
                    but I'd sit down in front of a one armed bandit for hours at a time.  cheesy wink

    Funny isn't it?

    I had a roomie who thought my gambling was "Wasteful" and he was spouting about how dangerous it was to my financial health.

    I then pointed out to him that driving without a license & insurance had left him with a debt of $3,500. I had no debt due to illegal actions...(Just legal ones)

    He wasn't too happy about me pointing that out. Yes, I DO risk money I can AFFORD to lose. Such was not the case 5 years ago. But I learned to "Hold Off" with the temptation.

    Now, I don't have a lot of cash, but then again, I don't worry about how to make the rent, land payment and food and such.

    I think I found a sort of answer which works for me.

    And yes, you'd NEVER get me into a perfectly good airplane just to jump out of it!!

            I will never be a big risk taker:
                              Hell I won't even tear the little tag off my mattress,  cheesy cheesy
      Yet I think nothing of betting high while gambling.  No risk, no reward.
                It's like a contradiction....... tongue

    Hiya PMM,

    I'm just the opposite! It seems like i'm always living on the edge. I always treaded alittle too close to the water.

    My first BIG risk was when i was 5 yrs old. A boy down the street who was about my age said..."i'll show you mine...if you'll show me yours"!! We went around the corner into the alley...which btw was a bigger risk cuz that was a HUGE no no rule....and the peek a boo moment happened! What harm was there in that...after all he was daring me.....lmaoooo!

    Life is short...we only live once (i think)....and the art of living is a gamble alone. So let  your hair down....take risks.....afterall this is what makes memories...and in the end......its all we got!

    So the next time you hear yourself say..." i could never"........rethink it.....ya just might like it.........wink!
