Dream a little Dream with me……

Hiya LCB’ers,

It seems lately I can not remember my dreams. I know I have to be dreaming when I wake up and can remember just a fragment of a dream.

Some people dream in color and have such vivid dreams they could be full length movies! Others will dream about people they have never met before and see them clear as a bell! Dreams can represent our accomplishments….particularly when we are able to fly in a dream.

While others have recurring dreams….something on a subconcious level that needs to be resolved. I had one of those dreams for the longest time. I had the same recurring dreams for a few years and never understood why. Once I realized why……..the dreams stop.

Everytime I met a new friend in my life I would dream that they moved. I would watch them pack the car and pull away……and I would cry and cry! It would be so intense that I could wake up in sweat with my heart pounding.

When I was in junior high my best friend who I went all through grade school with moved. It was a sudden move. I had left for the summer on a family vacation and when I returned home, I called her. The phone was disconnected. A few months later she called me to say they had moved out of state. I took that very hard……and never quite came to terms with it. I blocked out the sorrow I felt and basically lost contact with her.

Once I realized that this is why I was having the recurring dreams of friends moving……the dreams stopped!

I have alot of dreams. I dont know if everyone dreams all the time, but I do.
Even when I lay down for a short nap, I still dream.

I guess the dreams I like the most are the ones when I see my lost loved ones. 
I dreampt about my Mother and she hugged me once.  I could feel the warmth of her and smell her against my shoulder. WOW, it was so real.  That is one I will never forget.

I didn't learn about my Fathers death (How it was) till 15. From age 9-14 I had the most god awful dreams of monsters taking away my mother. Or, me being chased by nameless things only our dreams can bring out,

After I learned. THEN the monsters came after ME...Couldn't win for losing

Other then some very "ahem" dreams which I can recall (Oh yeah!) I rarely now really remember them. I think the intensity of it has a bit to do with the memory.

I have dreams almost every night! They're always multicolored
and soooo real! I don't know maybe all people feel the same, but dreams have I'd say powerful emotional influence on me!!! And it doesn't matter what a dream is about: horror, thriller, adult movie... lol All worries and feelings continue even if the dream is over! I remember once I dreamt how my boyfriend was unfaithful to me...Having woken up I blamed him just because "I can have such dreams by accident!!!". We argued and then he had to apologize that I had had a nightmare! Now it sounds so funny! 

Oh Phib that is too cute!! I know exactly what you mean though. If someone did us wrong in a dream, we wake up ticked off at that person!

Oh, there's one more thing about dreams I'd like to share with you guys...I think most of people have had a dream how they fall from a big height...I always wake up VERY frightened after this dream!!
Generally I'm afraid of height and try to avoid places which can provoke it! But this summer I still don't know how, but I summoned up my courage and went on a ride...You might know it...It's a vertically standing column with some seats around. So these seats went up 20-25 meters at a few seconds and then...FREE FALL...I just felt those terrible emotions from the dream! Since that moment I've cope with my phobia! 

It always seems we wake up before hitting the ground. I wonder if its an urban legend that we wake up because if we didn't the trauma in our dream could cause such panic we could die.

I know when i have those kind of dreams i wake up with my heart pounding. It takes a few minutes to calm down. Sometimes the dream will linger in my thoughts all day.

For me it was always a secret why I don't hit the ground!? Your legend, lips, sounds very reasonable! The emotions are really very strong!! And it might lead to cardiac arrest.......
As for flying in dreams...I've heard not everyone can do it! It's the sign that a person has reached a high level in their spiritual development! So, 13oclock, if it's so, my congratulations!  They say that the feelings during the dream and after are inexpressible!!!!

i believewhen we dream its our brains way of keeping us emotionally fit by giving us these sensations or forcing you to deal with repressed issues. i hope that made sense.

I typically have very vivid & interesting dreams; if I have a REALLLLLLLLY good one, I can continue it the next nite..... pretty cool

Lips, it's really funny that you brought this up.....we were just discussing dreams in  psychology class last week....The reason you can only remember bits and pieces of dreams is because we only dream bits and pieces....We average between 10-15 a night with each dream lasting between 2-5 mins! I myself found that hard to believe especially when I have a really vivid dream and remember everything about it...I would swear that those dreams lasted at least as long as a movie!!
