    I feel sorry for the innocent people who are being terrorized and killed on both sides of the border.

    I don't think that making drugs legal would solve the problem, then the outlaws will surely find other activities to explore. You can't solve everything by making it legal, the government has several agencies and employees that are paid to deal with these guys and that's what they should do.

    I don't know if legalization is the right course.  I know our Govt. here are talking about legalizing drugs.  I guess it takes the "black market" out of the equation but I'm not sure it's the right answer.

    I agree, legalizing drugs is not the answer; that opens the door to many other problems.
    Fighting these people isn't working either, especially when the FBI gave informers arms in the hopes of combating the cartels; Google "Operation Gun Runner” and "Operation Fast & Furious.”
    Our government hasn't learned their lesson from the decades of helping to put dictators in power, only to have them turn on us; Noriega, Duvalier, Khomeini, Amin, Castro, Marcos, Hussein, the list goes on.
    I am not sure what the answer is though?
    Look how long Pablo Escobar remained in power and alluded capture.
