Earth Sized Diamond

Actually, the diamond discovery is even larger than earth. There's a planet orbiting a star that is visible with the naked eye. This new discovery is called '55 Cancri e'.

The surface is believed to be covered in graphite and diamond. Diamond planets have been seen in the past but this is the first time one has been seen orbiting a sun-like star and studied in such detail.

I love diamonds and I considered the possibility of moving to this diamond planet until I heard that the temperature is 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit (1,648 Celsius)! One year lasts just 18 hours.

What do you think about outer space discovery? Could it be possible that one day we'll find civilization out there?

Oh wow talk about bling! I can hardly fathom in it. I have thought about life on other planets many times and i wouldn't rule it out that's for sure. What made me believe it could be possible is the documentaries on government cover ups from the general public.

Is it best to leave us in the dark if there is life on other planets?  Would we go into mass hysteria if we knew like Orsen Welles' Halloween broadcast War of the Worlds back in 1938?

I love diamonds too...I want more but not an earth sized one though.

I guess there must be life somewhere else in the universe, perhaps millions of miles away on the other side of the sun.  Not sure if I would want to see an ET though.

I don't think it's best not to let people know. It sometimes really irritates me when I think of all things we don't know. We have every right to know if there's life out there just as we have the right to know about anything else going on in our world.

My take on extra terrestrial life is that we can't be so closed off to the idea. We are small fish in a very large pond in terms of the universe. Who are we to say that we're the only ones? Oh gosh then to think of how it all began. I even get my head around that.

Time flies out there. Very interesting. There must a extra terrestrial life. The space is just to big. What bothers me is that humans don't appreciate the fact that we are alive and instead of living and celebrate life, we tend to destry it.

Yes, can you imagine a year is only 18 hours? We would be really really old out there.
