  • I just received a request for my "Salary Requirements" from an employer who I thought would have pitched my resume.

The problems I forsee, is that:

    1. I am NOT really qualified for the position.

    2. I am not good with high stress (This is a position overseeing employees, trucks and deadlines and schedules) (I took Lithium and prozac for 3 years to keep from killing myself BTW and when laid off, I went out dancing, I was that happy)

So, now I have to decide to either send them their request, ignore it, or just (If asked later) why I didn't respond, that I must have deleted it as it was in my spam box and didn't see it.

I am in a quandry as it's a job, it would "Possibly" pay well and it gets me back into the workforce.

The other side is to be dismissed as not working out to potentional, or once again hitting the medical group for more drugs.

Providing they even give me an interview also...That would be the next (Scary) hurdle.

BTW, I have to apply at 3 employers every week, this was an employer who I felt would have tossed my resume as I felt I had a "Few" positive qualifications, but nothing like I am sure they desire..I am (as I said) nervous, but curious too.

  • Geneco, go for it! I don't like to put limits on what I can do. If I don't already know how than I can definitely learn. FAKE it cool  huh ::)til' you MAKE it tongue wink kiss grin grin grin Go get that money man wink

  • I look at an 'opportunity' such as this to gain more experience in the interviewing process, even IF you didn't get the job.  I have found in my working experience in a supervisory position that the better a potential employee does in that initial interview, the better the chance they have to move on to the next phase of hiring.  Although, I have found employees who interviewed VERY well....really stunk as an employee!  I, myself, have never interviewed well but have proven to be a very valuable employee...so I guess it's all about whether you "really" want to work in that environment again wink  Either way....GOOD LUCK!!

  • You should put your SALARY REQUIREMENTS so high that you would not be in their pay range.  In LIFE if it does not feel right from the start, it will not turn out right. Do not stress over this, it's not worth it. Or you could choose to ignore it. In this economy the company has the pick of the litter.  The cost of interviewing is SOOOO expensive. Gas, clothing, copies of resumes etc. Then you do not get the job and you never get your money back from interviewing.  I know you are on Unemployment and a fixed income. But understand that is YOUR money you would not be getting it had you NOT worked for it. DO NOT let this Bad feeling you are feeling now pressure you into something you do not feel is right from the start. Especially because your life was so volatile that after your last job almost pushed you over the edge. It's not worth it. Ignore them.
