  • Dear LCB Family,

This time of year no matter who we are, does bring an element of stress. Whether its family rivalry, grieving a lost loved one or short on funds. We are all effected by this in one way or another.

How do we stop it? I think one way is to really understand the essence of what the season is. Its not about Christmas day, but about the entire season. It is a magical time of year where our hearts are full.

Try to patch up family rivalry, life is short. If in the end you have not succeeded..you know in your heart you tried and won’t be riddled with guilt later on down the road.

For those who have lost someone very near and dear to your hearts……remember them fondly. Embrace the good times through your memories which can never be taken away from you. After all………….that's exactly what they want you to do. Remember they are with you in spirit. They are now the angel that sits upon your shoulder.

We are all in the same boat as far fancy gift giving in previous years. Instead of purchasing a gift….give something that will be remembered much more than a store bought gift.

Write a letter…write a poem to someone very important in your life. We tend to go through the year without really expressing how much we appreciate our friends, neighbors, family members and partners.

If someone you know has had a great impact in your life……..let them know!!!! As we all know at LCB there is nothing greater than the written word. Its powerful and seems much easier for us to express just how we feel than in spoken words.

  • Lips,

This post is beautiful and, for me, very timely.

I haven't said anything because I haven't been a long time member here at this forum and, quite honestly, I come here to escape a little bit rather than think about troubles.  Anyway, my sister passed away the day after Thanksgiving.  She had battled a very long illness and I know she is at peace, which provides some comfort.

What you said here is so true.  Let people know you love them.  Don't take them for granted.  Don't put it off until tomorrow because you may not have a tomorrow.

Thanks for writing this post, Lips.

  •   For Lips:
          My very good friend:

"A friend like you is a special gift
    worth more than finest gold.
You've been there in my darkest hours
with a comforting hand to hold.
You know my thoughts before I speak,
we share our hopes and fears and
when life brings us joy and grief,
we share our smiles and tears.
You're generous with your time and love,
always there with a hand to lend.
Life wouldn't be as rich without you.
I'm so happy to call you friend" smiley smiley smiley
  • Hi Amy,

I am so sorry for your loss. Any time of year is so painful. I hope you can find some peace and comfort in this time of sorrow.

Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair...... I hope your friends and family become closer than usual to see each other through.

Thanks for sharing something so personal and sensitive. Reading sorrow like this from our members is never taken lightly. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.

  • PMM,

I could barely get through what you read as the tears filled my eyes. I know you mean that sincerely and that is what touches me the most. You my friend, have been one of the greatest gifts i have received this year.

You are the calm in the storm not only on a personal level but here at the forum. You are my loyal friend, which is never easy to find in the walk through life.

I hope you realize without you here.........life would never quite be the same. You are the Christmas angel atop the tree!!!

I tip my hat and curtsy towards the stars.....because of you.
