Hiya Cuties,
WIth gas prices estimated to reach an all time high of $5 a gallon this summer, had many people down right ticked off!
But things have turned for the better and gas prices are projected to come down. But why suddenly has it dropped. Do you feel that with the current situation of Bin Laden it will have an effect on our economy?

I just read an article about the oil companies making BILLION dollar profits and the still recieve giant tax breaks. Big business runs the show. Redamndiculous. I wouldn't go anywhere except my Kelsea loves to ride in the car. It is the only things she asks to do (by ask I mean she takes my hand and leads me to the door). How can I refuse? Gas is 3.95 here and 3.65 in the next town. Go figure.

Awww - that's so sweet wmmeden.
Looks like we are paying 3 x what you are paying. Most of the cost goes to the Govt here - they are very greedy.

You guys don't drive as much as Americans do you??
Yes we do but not as far as you can cos the country is so much smaller. Even so, we are still being ripped off by the Govt. here. What used to cost me £10 (12.71 litres) now costs me £17.80 or thereabouts. It sucks big time. Public transport is a joke so it's the car or don't go.

Omg $10 a gallon for gas?? I about gasped. Ya know i really didn't realize the conversion rates until i booked my trip to UK. It was a nightmare. It will eat up an American bank account in no time. The USD is only worth .65 per dollar against the pound.
The USD is so weak right now. Makes it very rough travel Europe with the conversion rates.

Boy Oh Boy, How things have changed! I can.t believe todays low gas prices.
I remember when gas was at it's high the price of bread , milk and everything else went up due to transportation costs. Now that the price is down, do ya think they're going to bring their prices back down? NOPE, no way! -

Most governments, especially in Europe, put big taxes on gas because it's a steady and certain revenue stream for the public budget.
In Romania we can get gas for 4.5 RON per litre at the moment (the prices have gone down significantly lately), that's about 1.08 US dollars. So that would be around 4.5 dollars per gallon, but you also have to consider that the average wage here is around 430 dollars per month. -

Saw gas here for $1.69 in Central Florida. Feels like the early 80's as far as gas prices. Hopefully, food does the same thing. With so much food stamps out there, maybe food prices won't come down as much as gas prices.
So many retirees relying on dividend checks from Big Oil. I expect some oil companies to get rid of their dividends or reduce them drastically, the way banks reduced dividends in 2008. -

There may be negative aspects to the lower prices, but there are surely positive ones too. More people can afford to leave town for vacation and visit family, for one. Right now, my grandchildren are an hour away and I can afford to go see them on a regular basis.
I, for one, am enjoying paying only $1.65 a gallon in Minnesota.
Isn't one of the reasons the prices have gone down because they have found more oil in the USA and Canada. I think not being so dependant on other countries is a good thing.
ANYWAY, we should all be moving towards using other methods of energy....IMHO

Saw gasoline for $1.61 today in Orlando, Florida. So much more affordable than a year or two when gasoline hit $3.84 a gallon and stayed that high for over a year. Last year I gave up owning a car, though I have bought two of the daughters a car for Christmas as their old ones broke down.
