Gross observation

Well, the area I'm posting in says "Discuss Anything here" so here it goes.

I'm renting a room from a nice older gentleman, who is a vegetarian (Somewhat) but
he does try hard to stay the course.

This morning, he tossed out some old TOFU and some landed on the back porch. No probs, small bits.

About 4" from one chunk, lays a slug I accidentally squished a bit. Poor slug!

So what happens? Ants! Lots of ants!

They are going after...???

The SLUG!!

Ewwwwwwww....

Then again, would you eat TOFU?? I'll pass on both.

I stepped on an earwig today.....i wonder what creature would enjoy that as a delicacy..........wink!

Have to commend Gen on being able to tell the difference between mashed slug and TOFU though.

What is TOFU?

A protein-rich food coagulated from an extract of soybeans and used in salads and various cooked foods.

NOTE: It WILL absorb the flavor of the food surrounding ti. so use lots of Bar-b-que sauce, or grease and soak it good! Plus you can have it firmer or pliable if you wish (Damn sounds like I'm using clay!)

ETYMOLOGY:
Japanese tfu, from Chinese dòufu : dòu, bean + f, fermented, curdled

Calorie wise, it's great for a diet (After eating one block of this stuff, you may want something with taste like a cookie.>so that sucks!

But it is high protein and good type of fat (Non-cholesterol) and so there's good about it..But it'll never replace anything I eat.
