Honoring the Dead

The 7th generation acrobatic Wallendas family lost a family member when he attempted a dangerous high wire walk in 1978. To honor his death, grandson and his mother preformed the very same tightrope that killed Karl. Together they walked a 300 ft long, 100 ft tightrope with no net successfully.



The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and was built in honor of Pharaoh Khufu. The 455 ft pyramid was once the tallest structure in the world for nearly 4,000 years. The mysterious construction is estimated to have taken 14,000 men over ten years to complete. What makes this great tribute to Khufu more bizarre is he had a reputation for being a cruel and mean character.




Grieving husband Pedro Ureta lost the love of his life in 1977 and to honor his wife planted trees in the shape of a guitar because it was her favorite instrument. The eucalyptus trees and cypress landscape is 2/3 mile long and took 7,000 trees to construct.



When a Dutch artist’s cat got killed and ran over by a car he put his artistic talent to work. Devastated by the loss of his beloved cat, Bart Jansen turned his cat into a helicopter, operated by remote control.  His strange work of art is valued at 100,000 EU.



A loyal German Shepard dog named Capitan has went to his master’s grave for the past 6 years. Miguel Guzman of Argentina died in 2006 and the grieving family dog found his way to his grave on his own and every evening at 6pm lays down to sleep next to his headstone.

OMG the dog! That's the most loyal dog ever. I absolutely love the trees too!

The dog story is quite incredible, such loyalty is quite rare among both humans and animals.

Love the dog story but not so sure about the "catcopter" story.

I remember reading the story about the dog, that was very moving. The story about the cat is a bit creepy.
