  • I can't beleive for 4 months the husband was living in the house where she was found... how bad could it have been, human remains is a smell that is unmistakeable and also UNBAREABLE in raw stages.. (also if you were to see this womans picture she in no way looks as though she lived this way, you'd never guessed it)

  • wow i guess i better let go of the 80's (jk) very sad indeed sad

  • What a crazy story!

    So how did she die?

  • They don't know how she died they just found her, it is an ongoing story, i let you know what else comes about it.

    lol rena!

  • very interesting story please let us know  smiley

  • The stench in that home had to be beyond comprehension. The fact that trained dogs could not sniff her out or decipher the difference between a dead corpse and rancid debris says volumes!

I am curious to know how she died too. The thing is she was found buried among the trash. Maybe it tumbled on her and she was buried alive in it. Wow what a story.

Keep us updated for sure imagin.

  • I heard about that and I for one imagine the stench was pretty nasty as I have smelled what a decomposing body smells like and I can assure you, once you smell that, you'd either run or upchuck your stomach.

Oh BTW in regards to that part: In 1947, police found a body inside a Manhattan row house. Brothers Homer and Langley Collyer had filled the house with possessions, including a Model T chassis, 14 pianos and more than 25,000 books.

Both brothers were found dead among the clutter.

That was in the monthly edition of one of those "Readers Digests Condensed Books" and quite an interesting story.

  • How is that possible! What kinda people have that much trash in their house? And how difficult it had to be to live in a place where stench is so heavy you can't make a difference between the smell of a corpse and the smell of garbage?

  • Well...Dang...As hard as it is to admit, my Aunt was like those, in fact, her family was like that. When her house caught fire, the fire dept had to wade through trash (No food scraps though) and dig out an area where the fire started.  shocked shocked

I loved my Aunt quite a bit (Husband was an abuser who died some years previously) and she'd not let strangers (Or even me) into the main house. When the fire happened though, I did see a house that had stuff stacked to the ceiling in some rooms. shocked shocked

I don't know why she did this, but maybe it was just because she wasn't totally right mentally or such. Thankfully, she finally moved to a retirement home and they (Of course) don't allow such things to occur. grin

It's (I believe Doc could explain) a thing like OCD if I'm not mistaken.

  • I think something is really fishy about it all... no pun intended.. it is horrible, but when i read this..

Bill James brought the search for his wife Billie Jean to a horrifying conclusion on Wednesday when he spotted her feet sticking out from the pile of junk that filled the room from floor to ceiling.

Why suddenly her feet are sticking out? None of her to be found when the sniffer dogs came, when she disappeared, for her to fall into garbage and be completely covered without a sign of her? Unimaginable the amount of junk and trash it had to of been

  • I agree Imagin, something is afoul here and it ain't just the smell.  The truth will come out.  I watched the yearly 'hoarders' show in HGTV I think it is, recently and WOW.  These people have a real disorder to let things go, basements were filled, rooms, garages, you name the space it was filled with something.  The show had therapists come chat with the people, and the other show people organized a weekend long yard sale to get rid of it all.  Whatever didn't sell had to go to charity immediately after the sale was done so the people wouldn't put it back in the house.  Then they got organizing tips on how to declutter and keep the house spacious.  I am a natural anti-things person.  Maybe because we were always moving growing up, but I dislike a lot of 'things' as in things just to have them.  Maybe I will change once I buy a house, but I am always arguing with my husband about his habit of keeping stuff he doesn't need, and he acuses me of 'giving away our stuff'.
