Category 4 storm going up the east coast of the U.S. after hitting Haiti, Cuba, and the Bahamas. I have two sisters that live in St. Augustine. A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for the entire city. It is one of the oldest cities in the U.S. at 450 years old. Lots of the city has an elevation between 1 foot to 3 feet above sea level. A storm surge of 8 feet is expected.
Stay safe everyone. Property can be replaced. Human life cannot be replaced.
Both sisters safe. They rode out the storm 29 miles away in Palatka, but Palatka lost their electricity. When returning to St. Augustine, I guess there is some TLC that will be needing done. Thank goodness the hurricane eye stayed 40 miles out in the ocean.
