I'd be rich if I just had more money....

Hi Gang:
  I know many can relate to me when I say "Times are Tuff."
Being broke sucks. It is worrisome as well as tiring.  Phone ringing all the time and we avoid it like it is on fire. Laying awake at night worrying about bills, bills, and more bills, and not able to get the rest we need.  Being broke wears you out.  :-\
    As always I try to take a humorius side to things to make us laugh in our tough situations.  

        I have come up with a few reasons why being broke is a good thing. 

 
1.    Friends won't ask to borrow money and subsequently not return it.
2.    Ramen noodles are tasty.
3.    Secondhand clothes rock.
4.    Walking places will keep you fit.
5.    Finding 50-cent beer nights at local bars is rewarding.
6.    No boyfriend/girlfriend will use you for your money.
7.    A 40-ouncer fits every budget.
8.    Coupon clipping keeps you busy.

Anyone else have any funny reasons being broke could be a good thing??

      No one asks me to drive somewhere as my car is old.

lol...you always try to see the bright side of things!!! personally I still think being broke just plain out sucks!!

Being poor is good:

You get to know the plasma nurses at the donation center on a first name basis...
Standing on the off-ramp does increase your pocket change..
(You also get a workout dodging stuff thrown at you)
Thieves don't bother you.
You're thrilled at the sale of dented cans in the supermarket.
(If they don't have the ones you like on sale, you dent them yourself) 

Nobody comes over to eat!
When you are broke.... everyone just bypasses you !

      In all seriousness, being broke is no fun at all, I just try to make a few of things that make us miserable a little less if we can laugh about it.  It is that whole "Am I going to laugh or cry at my situation."

In all honesty.. i had some really bad broke days
But i'll tell you those were the best days of my life!

Heres one:
     No one wants to bum a cigarette off you as you roll your own with cheap tobacco and papers.  LOL

      I know it all to well. Being broke is a part of so many of our lives at one time or another. I appreciate you sharing those memories with me, and again, although it isn't funny at the time, we learn to look back on things like that as something that makes us stronger. Your wish sandwiches memory made me laugh out loud. Again, I have been there.  Thanks for sharing.

Oh PMM, yeah it's that "If I didn't laugh I'd cry" bit.

I'm not too worried..I may just start applying for some jobs here that pay a bit less, but maybe they might work out. No, not worried or stressed, just that "Well, let's see what this brings"

But at my age..I don't think I've got too good a chance, but won't know unless I try.

BTW did you ever donate at the plasma centers? I have and it's not too bad, but it is a bit tough sometimes...Just hoops and such they run you through. Not that I do it now...Too far to travel!

when i am down i always remind myself that i felt sorry for myself cause i had no shoes until i sw the man who had no feet, being broke can be very humbling and reminds us what is really important in life

well.....at least when your broke you don't have to worry about what outfit to wear when you go out....because your broke ass will be sitting at home!!....
