I am sad to announce a death in my family

Little Cledus Jacobs passed away early this afternoon. Cledus was born 12-16-2007. For a guinea pig he had a great life running free on the main level of the house.  He is survived by his bother Lester who he lived with and god only knows how many other relatives.  I was told by the lady who owns the guinea pig rescue place in July 2008 since my 2 pigs are brothers when 1 dies the other one needs to see him dead so he can morn.  Wtf?  Lester was inside their blanket when I found Cledus dead at the opening of their plastic baby swimming pool where their food and water are.  Their blanket is attached to the swimming pool and thats why I didnt see that cledus had died right away.  Well, Lester heard me near his swimming pool so he came flying out from inside the blanket, runs over Cledus's body and goes into the baby plastic swimming pool to eat.  I asked Lester for a comment on the passing of his brother.  He stated, "I have no comment at this time as I am hungry. Can I have his share of lettuce now?".  I then sat down with Ms. Lottie Lab and told her Cledus died.  She said, "Thats great when will the other one die so I dont have to keep a constant watch on my food, toys and rawhide bones? I have to go now I just heard the mail truck and its time for me to go crazy."

I feel your pain of loss Gunny, I am afraid at this time for my Tobiegirl, She is only two months from 14 years old now, and she has caught something fierce of frailty.. as if these past 2 years have been rough that she has seemingly found no desire to live on. I do cross my fingers and hope she gets through this phase perhaps , but i leave it to her to decide.

Such a shame to hear this Gunny.  As for Lester, sounds like he'll be mourning at a later date.  Will you get another one or will Lottie Lab get her way?

Tim - sorry to hear about your Tobiegirl.  I hope she gets through this phase.

No more mini pigs for me.  This worked out perfect.  I was hoping when the time came that Lester would outlive Cledus because Lester would be able to handle being alone better than Cledus since he is busy eating 18 hours a day.

So sorry Gunny    And Tim, I hope your girl hangs in there and improves.

So sorry to hear about Cledus gunnylab. It seems that the others are taking his passing quite well at the moment. Your obituary was very entertaining. So sorry for the baby though.

I have my fingers crossed for your Tobiegirl too Tim.
