    There's a amazing (...and more) lady where I play live poker one day in the month. She speaks only english and now I'm wondering whether it's fine or not and how does it sound if I ask her...

    "Hey, if I do meet your non-poker action requirements, whatabout having a drink in the city later on?"

    I think that your English is perfect. And the fact that you can communicate in another language other then your native tongue says a lot about you. Sometimes i think there is a misconception that if you don't speak perfectly in another language then you have failed. Some will not even try to speak at all because they are embarrassed or afraid they sound "dumb". Nothing could be further from the truth. As most people take it as a compliment for trying to speak to them at all.

    I am sure you have had conversations with other people who don't know your language perfectly, yet were impressed enough that they could speak it at all.  Most women i think would agree that an accent can be sexy!

    Don't let an opportunity pass you by because you are afraid you don't speak properly. Ask her just like you want to ask her. She just may be one of the great ones to come along.

    I believe I happened to be one of those who used to stand behind...rather not speak so much afraid of it might get misinterpreted or criticized.
    Sometimes it's just hard to describe or explain things in a way I would in my native language...

    Schwede, I had no idea you have this great sense of humor in you and you have a way of writing so perfect and like Lips said, I find men with accents, very sexy and charming so please don't hesitate to speak to her.

    I think you two ladies (Lips and Nan) have summed it up perfectly.

    Way back in my younger days, I met a man who was German and he could speak no English at all and I no German.   We ended up as a couple and one of the best parts was learning each others language - I taught him English (with a nice southern accent) and he helped me with the German language. 

    Don't worry about language being a barrier, if anything, she will love it as I did.
