Is this not the cutest face ever?

The first week of July we found a very young kitten in our barn, barely 2 weeks old we estimated, abondoned by it's mother (a feral orange cat). I left food & water out because we couldn't get to it underneath our barn to catch it. We heard little meow's for a few days after discovering it and then nothing for a week. My hubby figured it had died because it was so young and didn't have a mama to feed it. A week after we didn't hear anything, I began hearing little "mew" sounds coming from underneath our pump house (which is near where our motorhome is parked and which we are living in). Sure enough...kitten moved out there so I began setting food & water out again as well as a live animal trap to try & catch it. Only thing I caught was one of our own barn cats! Weeks have gone by...we've been trying to befriend the kitten who has taken up residence underneath the chassis of the motorhome, mostly on top of the big tires, which is where I feed it most of the time as our other dogs/cats want its food.

This kitten is very skittish and hides from us all the time so I hadn't been able to really get near it.  A few days ago...major break through! Kitten let me touch it...and then a day later, I was able to pick "her" up and pet her! She is now becoming quite friendly although she is still skittish. We've had a few laughs watching her chase after the big German Shepherd dog and the little Yorkie as they walk around the motorhome.  

We call her "Squeak" because that's what she sounds like when she meows. She's kind of grown on us....just what we needed, another stray...but if she turns out to be a good hunter she is welcome to stay!

Very cute and very unusual markings.  I'm glad she is letting you hold her and pet her.  Another member for your ever growing family hymacaw.

OMG she is beautiful. Such a sweet face. Aww she knows how lucky she is and is coming around. She's a lucky girl hymacaw. I found a cutie pie outside the other night. Oh she was so sweet and she squeaked too. I have to try to get a pic.

Couldn't resist a couple more pics.  Kitten followed my Yorkie up the stairs into our motorhome today and hung out for a bit to see how us humans live I guess.  All she did was "herd" my poor little Yorkie....who doesn't really care much for the kitten but tolerates her.  Maggie tried to get away from Squeak and lay in her bed...didn't go so well for Maggie    "Mom...please make it go awayyyyyyy!"

How cute!!  I love tortoiseshell cats!  I had one show up here a few years ago and, after giving me 3 batches of kittens then finally getting her fixed, she moved 2 houses away, where she still lives!!    They also kept the name I gave her - Yah Yah Kitty Girl.  I hope you have her for a very long time!!

That is adorable. OMG how sweet. Your dog is so tolerant of that curious little kitty. I love it! hehehe

Hymacaw you are a true animal lover and it one of the things i admire about you most! The kitten is cute as a button and so is your Yorkie! I wish i lived on a big farm and could take in every stray animal in the neighborhood!

I have a tortoiseshell cat, she was a stray too! She is very sweet, but a bit of a troublemaker, lol. 

What is it about torties??? We had one wonder up one day. At first, I refused to feed her because I didn't want strays hanging around, but she never left and I relented and started feeding her. She is a permanent fixture now and is quite a loving lady.  She had to have a home at one time because she has been fixed.
