    I love to cook. I take pride in my cooking so it irritates me when someone modifies it. What I mean is, they add to it.

    For example, I made some potato salad and my mother-in-law pours tons of lemon pepper seasoning all over hers. Whenever she eats with us she says how lovely it is then goes in the kitchen and adds cheese, seasoning, hot peppers or whatever she can get her hands on. Oh it's just so lovely that she's gonna destroy it. Drives me nuts! Just sayin!

    Hearing you loud and clear Froggy.  Go into a greasy spoon and you'll see men throwing half a bottle of Tomato Ketchup on their bacon and eggs.  What's that all about?

    I swear...I think your mil and mine are twins or if not they should be best friends. laugh_out_loud
    Not only she tries to interfere my cooking but how I should love my husband,my culture,foods that I cook and how I shouldn't raise my children in a way I was raised...blah blah!!!
    I am never good enough in her eyes and I don't think it will even change. :'$

    I am a semi expert baker and no one messes with stuff they get.  Just imagine my signature dessert in your mouth.  Double chocolate cheese cream puffs.  The filling has melted chocolate chips, cream cheese, milk, brown sugar and vanilla.  Mix that together then fold it into homemade whip cream.  It only takes 6 hours from start to finish to make a double batch.

    Hey all I'm a mother in love my daugther inlaws . So i feel for you never had the problems thank god. Anyway tell your mother to bring her own food if the dosn't like yours.OR hide the pepper and whatever else. Tell your husband to tell her to BUT OUT!!!!! hope this helps.
    P.S. If i didnt like their food I would make a excuse not to go.
