Lifes Lessons...

I thought i would make a thread that would allow members of LCB to share some lifes lessons we've learned, with all of us here to learn for ourselves and learn from each other what makes us step on in life

Share some Lifes' Lessons on how you have overcome certain obstacles or enhanced your power to live on. Can be love, friendship, hardships, or just a small lesson in life that has a meaning or a simple thought.

Here's some i learned with many more i have...

A Fair ex'change - Forgive but never forget, Smile and don't hate, My hard and soft lessons learned are a compliment to my stride, theres 2 things in life that are constant "Change and Change"

Don't sweat the small stuff, never forget where you came from and basically it takes a lot more energy and makes you feel worse to be angry and hate someone rather than to be forgiving to what was done.

Never burn your bridges... you might need one someday! Keep your heart open.

If possible, stop and help if you can. A kind word doesn't cost anything.

A hard head makes a soft bottom...

My grandmother used to say that to me, and she still says that to me about my children when I call her stressed out! aww..I love her.

I agree with forgiveness and i used to say forget, like "forgive and forget" but by doing that somehow i lost the lesson i learned and i have either done it again OR it was done to me again and i let it, inadvertively it got handled wrong by forgetting.. so now i say Forgive and be kind to those who do inflict... this small act does prove great impact even on the cruel.

Forgive and forgiveness, nevering fearing to be humble, but don't forget the lesson learned.

How about one very true... "The bigger they are the harder they fall".. this is meant for adults with deep meaning, i always thought it meant physical "big" and physically "falling".. it's that emotional trip..

I *always* try to see the other side.  Understanding where the other person is coming from makes a big difference in the situation, and in your perception of the situation. 

But saying that, even understanding where they are coming from doesn't make them right, nor does it mean you will be able to connect with them on the level you want to.  Some people are the way they are, regardless of how you are to/with them.  In these situations, you just have to let it go.

If you spend too much time taking care of Number 1, you'll step in Number 2!

Wow, I had to think about this for a bit. I think one of the biggest things I have learned is you can't take back the words you say. You can say you are sorry, but the hurt is done.  Also,  that life isn't always happy or fair. You have to take what happiness you can get and try not to be bitter about the bad.
