Loyal dog

Tommy, a seven-year-old German Shepherd, belonged to Maria Margherita Lochi, a 57-year old Italian woman. She passed away a couple of months ago and guess what? The dog is constantly attending services at the Italian church where her funeral was held patiently waiting for her to return.

Father Donato Panna said:''He's there every time I celebrate Mass and is very well behaved - he doesn't make a sound, I've not heard one bark from him in all the time he has been coming in. He used to come to Mass with Maria and he was obviously devoted to her - I let him stay inside as he was always so well behaved and none of the other parishoners ever complained to me. He's still coming to Mass even after Maria's funeral, he waits patiently by the side of the altar and just sits there quietly. I didn't have the heart to throw him out - I've just recently lost my own dog so I leave him there until Mass finishes and then I let him out."

Loyal is an understatement. Poor sweet dog. Wonder who takes care of him now.

The loyalty of a dog is immeasurable and the church commendable for allowing that sweet baby to stay.

It would be nicer if they'd adopt the poor bugger lol.
I can see mine doing that; it sits at my feet at any given moment I'm awake..if I move rooms, it follows; if I use the facilities, it flops in the hall, If I change chairs, it gets up, flops at my feet (or on them) at the new chair. Sweet (little annoying lol). The only thing it WON'T do, is sleep in the bed, even if coaxed as the other dog won't allow it lol..it's her domain..he gets me all day, she sleeps with me at night. He waits til I wake up, and resumes parking at my feet.

I love this story. It makes me so happy to see kindness toward animals.

That's a very touching story. It's nice that they all are taking care of the dog now.

Dogs are the single most amazing creatures on this planet.  They love unconditionally, they are always happy to see you, they are immeasurably smart as well!!!! 

I am a doggy foster parent (I take in PitBulls only, because they are always the ones needing rescue, and I love the breed.) and these dogs are so freaking thankful once they get out of the situation they are in and into my house.  I have rescued dog fighting dogs, dogs that have lived years on a 3-foot logging chain, and puppies that were roaming the streets. 

Dogs will forever show you gratitude if you give them the respect and patience that they need.  I would be curious to know if Maria rescued Tommy, as he does not look like a purebred GSD.  If he is, that explains his undying love for his master.  He is caring for her the way that she probably cared for him all of those years.  Love dogs.

IMO, 'Rescued' should be the only breed. 

You must have seen some sights then jodi having rescued fighters. That makes me sick and I can't see the entertainment in dogs killing each other. You're an amazing person for what you do. Those babies are lucky to have you

Every time one of my fosters leaves my house, they take a piece of my heart with them.  I love them all.
