Men and Childbirth... Could Ya?

Here's my story...

Pregnant...I woke up about 2 am with a slight backache, just thinking i slept wrong, went to the fridge got a glass of orange juice, drank it, went back to sleep. About 3:30 am i woke again, still had the backache, got up and headed towards the restroom as i was headed there.. my water broke, just as suddenly as this happened i was having my girl.. i crawled to the bed, woke her father up, told him i needed to get to the hospital, TOO LATE.. she was coming and coming QUICK.. he called paramedics as he was doing this he went next door and got my neighbor, she came over now i have 2 crazys there.. My neighbor is screaming "boil water" (lol) and her father is kneeling on the bed down that way in front of me like he's ready to catch something (lol) while the paramedics on the phone getting a description of what's going on.. "Yeah i see the head". First one on the scene was a police officer, he walked in and immediately stood back against the wall (i know that wall was the only thing holding him up his eyes were as wide as they can go, he was froze in that position and he looked like he was about to pass out). With paramedics on phone and as far as this birth has advanced they told her father to tell me to go ahead and just push and let her come.. i did that and she did enter this world right into her fathers hands.. now the funny part....she was very tiny, my neighbor and him conversating between each other i could hear.. "is she breathing?".."uhh i think you gotta spank her".. i hear her father say.. "what..spank her?" ... with her still connected to me he cradles her and begins to walk away.. I say "waait a minute"... (lol) he's like "ooh ooops".. The paramedics get there right after this, they cut the cord and do what they have to do.. everything went fine.. they wrap my baby and get me and her on the gurny. As we were leaving out of the bedroom.. both the frozen police officer and her father fainted looooooool

They made it through the whole thing, being there through what doctors have years of training to do.. as soon as they realized what they just saw.. they passed out...

Mamrone.. you are so sweet... this was 20 years ago, my daughter is 20.. yes everything was fine. No problems at all both of us came out of it with flying colors.

Her Official Birth Certificate, does say and notes she was born at home by her father giving his name. It was the talk of the block for months, she was a celebrity, people from all over the neighborhood came to see her, asking us to tell the story. It's alot more to it i just didn't want to get to graphic.

That is a good story Imagin!  A friend of mine was trying to get to the birthing center she had planned to deliver at, but it wasn't open because it was the middle of the night and her midwife was on the way, but not there yet so as she was walking to the building's door, her daughter came 'whooosh' right in the middle of the lawn.  Her husband had knelt down right when it happened (she told him it was coming and to help), and he caught her as she slipped out.  Crazy huh?  I myself had a horrible labor with my son (almost 10 lbs and I'm only 5ft 4 inches and I wasn't prediabetic), and after 2 days of labor ended up in an emergency c-sec because of his heart rate etc.  I said to heck with that the second time, and had a scheduled planned c-sec with my daughter.

LOL Imagin. You always have fantastic stories. I am so glad you and her came out of it ok. Now you have a story and a memory that will go on forever.

Me. I had 6 c-sections Yes, 6.

They were ALL painful, and the last one I almost died, and my baby came out unconscience (sp?) and that was when I made the choice to get my tubes tied and never go through that again.

Oh my goodness you both had it so hard... i commend you..

i barely made it through that.. i had no labor pains, the only pain was when she was coming through, my doctor said i must have slept through whatever pains i did have, it is uncommon but it does happen..

The things i remember most was the policeman, he was young, the wall he was against was in my bedroom facing me and i was facing him, from the edge of the bed to the wall was maybe about 5 ft... i can see him clearly, he was just fixated, eyes open, mouth open... then down below, they were kneeled down i can see and hear my neighbor and her father and their conversation lol.. her father on the phone, his head pops up and he's like.. okay push.. then back down again.. it was crazy and happened so fast within minutes...

The officer came to visit.. he was on the force maybe about a month he said admitting he was new, he said in his training he saw many things alot worse then you can imagine.. its just a woman giving birth is something you don't see everyday.. "it was my first one".. it really grabbed ahold of him..

It does take certain people to handle certain things, but theres just something about a woman giving birth that sets panic lol, her father staying pretty calm and the policeman frozen... it didn't hit til after.
