    I need microsoft word to work on my resume.  I am just wondering if they have a free download program on the internet.

    any computer expert here?

    TAAA you can get a 60 free trial download at http://office.microsoft.com
    There is also another office suite available entirely for free called OpenOffice that you can download  here: www.openoffice.org/ or on Cnet downloads site. I have used this one for years and it works almost the same as Word.

    Openoffice is the nearest to microsoft word as Katt says and they are compatible apparently.  Is that right Katt that they are compatible?

    Yep, you are absolutely right blue... and OpenOffice has the entire suite, not just word  processing, but spreadsheets, drawing, presentations etc... and their whole deal is that they are Open Source software... they believe in making these tools available without cost and if you are so inclined you can donate money if you want, but also time to test products and give feedback and actually get involved with the project in any number of ways... it is pretty cool all in all!

    If you are a student, you can get Microsoft word etc for a fraction of the price (well over here you can).
