  • Okay, I hadn't seen him around for awhile, and I'm cleaning up my email and found this sent to me in January- I altered the link so it doesn't work...

    From drpsyce (The Mind Doc)

Well, gee.  since this is a customized link I guess he's now in the business of making money off of weight loss along with whatever else is going on.  Now, it would be one thing to honestly be concerned for the handful of recipients who got his nice little email.  Not even a hello, how are you thought maybe you might be interested in...

I may try to find a site and send him a reply.  Click here to enjoy a new personality with... or something similar.  Mind Doc, you always stir things up.

Do people you know ever send you these type of emails or is it normally just spammers?

Anyone else get this?  There were 9 recipients, including myself.  I hope I'm amongst good company!

  • What???  surprise It seems kind of rude to me but like you said he does like to stir things up exclamation

I've never received anything like that but I don't click on anything that I do not know where or whom it's from.

Good ole Mind doc,you never know what he'll say or do!!

  • pretty much what I was thinking but thought I'd let others who know him weigh in  (pun intended!)

  • Exactly Chilly!!

I'm curious to know what he was thinking and if he thought of it as a joke.

  • Nothing here.

Question though: how did he get your email address?  From LCB?

This is definitely spamming.  You didn't ask for the info, that's for sure.

    blue

  • If it was a joke, it was a really LARGE one.  Not.

I think he was thinking, I'll send this to these fat people and make some money.  They'll appreciate it.

He could get my email from LCB, but he had it already.  He had made a gesture a year or so ago to treat me to a trip to Atlantic City and I had given him my email to discuss.  Not much discussing.  Said he was going in the Spring and then went.  I considered it for a few days, but I stayed home and never heard from him again, until this.

  • He could be innocent though, sometimes hackers send such emails from other peoples' accounts. I got one yesterday from a friend's email, called him and he said he never sent it. That happens quite often especially with yahoo.com email accounts.

  • well, I suppose that is possible, but I am sure he has more than 9 people in his contact list, and this was sent to all 9 of us at one time.  Not the usual way a hacker or virus would act.

and I didn't click on the link.

maybe one day he'll stroll back in here and see this topic and enlighten us.  (some of us need to be lightened, apparently...lol again)

  • I get these emails from my friends email addresses altough they dont send them i dunno what are they.

Etc " lose your  weight in 5 mins " " enlarge your penis size by 20inches" rofl

  • This doesn't have to mean that he sent you this email. As Johnny and Tenho have said, I received emails from my friends, as well. But, who knows... smiley

  • I've received emails like that before. They were spam but I was a little p'd off before I realized it. Had that problem with yahoo. laugh_out_loud

  • well, I suppose that is possible, but I am sure he has more than 9 people in his contact list, and this was sent to all 9 of us at one time.  Not the usual way a hacker or virus would act.

Wrong, that is exactly how those act, they send the messages simultaneously to every contact they can find on the hacked account.
  • I've added a poll at the top.

I emailed him and asked if he sent me a weight loss email or if his computer was hacked or infected.

    what do you think?

  • Hmmm its very odd chilly. I would be inclined to think it was him by adding that line about "stirring things up". That was a personalized comment to make don't you think?

Also did doc have your email address?

  • i have received similar emails and it says its from a particular person but when i click on it low and behold its spam  8'| maybe mind doc will clear this up

  • As you can see, the poll is now closed.  : )

Thanks for participating.  You can read The Mind Doc's topic- "I did not spam" in the forum.

Of course, "I did not spam" could mean many things...

    No need to reply.

We're all good here.  thumbs_up cheesy grin
