Mind the language

Hi guys I'm no prude but ive noticed some of the language on here is becoming a bit fruity ...piece of advice ....if you start off cursing debatable words in a post ...there is only one way its gonna go ....DOWNHILL....and before you know censorship and banning members comes in ...so cool it on the language guys this is a civilised site lets keep it that way

                  Hey Righton,  good point, I know I have to keep it in check;  would be happy if we could all maintain civility toward one another on the forum in general as some of the posts of late have gotten a little personal IMO.  'Course not towards me 'ya understand 'cause, well,  everybody loves Bongo.....LOL

Losing loyal members because a forum allows personal attacks.

It is actually funny, because i remember a statement that said that no bullying or personal attacks are allowed in this forum, yet it happens on this forum.

And another bully fact is that thanking the members that are doing the nasty personal comments is just further bullying the member who is at the receiving end of that attack, also think how that person feels, do people even think about what they are saying and if they are hurting another member with what they say on here.

What happens is this - 1 member starts, then because of that, others join in and then it gets out of hand, and then all those thank you's that get passed around, just further enforces that it was ok to bully or attack that member in the first place, if people do not see that has NOT bullying then, i don't know how you can actually be empathetic at all.

I am and will not be posting in this forum again, i saw this thread and i thought i had to speak out, unless i see change i will not be back and unless i get an apology for the bad mouthed replies i got too yet again.

I don't care if people hate me, but publically attacking a member on a public forum and then other members joining in is wrong, it is bullying.

EDIT: one last thing i failed to mention that is also one of the biggest facts about online bullying is the fact people think they can hide behind the anonymity of the internet, they think they can say and do anything they like, even if that means degrading and/or hurting others just for there own personal satisfaction.

There is plenty of stuff on the internet to read about bullying in its many forms, i recommend people actually going to do some research and then they can think about what they are actually doing to members of community's on these types of online forums.

I have noticed too when a member posts for help some people are posting not so nice comments. I know this is an open forum but i have always liked the fact members can post something or request help and the majority of the time they get a response that is helpful and respectful. I hope with all my heart LCB does not turn into what i have seen on some forums (sorry if this comment seems judgmental i do not mean it to be. This is only my opinion and not meant to be harmful toward any other forum or members that belong to other forums.)I hope things stay peaceful and calm here. LCB is a very good place to belong.

I have to disagree with you righton, for the most part there is no bashing our foul language on LCB. And when that happens on rare occasions then Moderators are always on top of things. So i really do not see even a glimpse of what u are referring to. But that is me.

We are all coming from different backgrounds and different mentalities and it is only normal that ppl would argue at times.

I  am not even surprised why RJ, who said on more than one occasion they are done with this forum, came back to give one more comment before logging out.

It is so theatrical what you do man, you need to suck it up and take responsibility for the way you have been behaving at this forum.

And to speak of bullying is ridiculous because i have seen on many occasionas moderators "defending" you from those attacks.

And now you are pissed off because you were called out as a whiner and impatient. But what you keep forgetting that you have been apologizing for that very same thing in one or two of topics you started in past.

So even you know how you act.

Calling you out and voicing an opinion is hardly being considered as bullying .

I honestly hope you will stop announcing how you going to leave for the 50th time this year, and either stay and stop whining or leave if you really feel this way.

Personally i do believe that some members would miss you, and as far as i m concerned i sure won't miss those whining posts.
What i would miss is some decent type of topics you started and someone who has a lot to contribute when they are not acting like a little kid.

The cases of foul language are very rare on LCB, and I read every new post every day. Bullying is also very rare, at least in my view but some might be more sensitive than others.

Anyway, I think that the language and atmosphere on this forum is way more civil than what you would find on mainstream media in Europe or the US of A.

          Yeah, I think the use of foul language (at least what I have seen) on this post has been used mainly  to place extra emphasis on a point or express excitement about a topic; but I've  never seen it used in anger or as an additive to name calling  in the years I've been here.  Also, like Nirvana said, the moderators have been, and are on top of these things quickly.

This is a VERY classy site.  And the mods will not tolerate bashing (which is great.)  But something comes to mind...If the shoe fits, wear it. 

Some people need to look at themselves and reread some of their posts.  I can recall a couple I read that could be considered "bullying" or bashing someone else.  But then that person's feelings get hurt when he/she is called out.

You can't have it both ways.  A person shouldn't think that they can post anything they want and then when they are responded to with a reply they don't like, they can run to the mods to defend them.
