missing AirAsia jet QZ8501 bound for Singapore from Indonesia

- AirAsia flight QZ8501 bound for Singapore from Surabaya, Indonesia and carrying 162 people on board went missing Sunday morning.

- Contact with the plane was lost around an hour after departure, somewhere over the Java Sea between Belitung island and Pontianak, on Indonesia's part of Kalimantan island.

- Search and rescue operations were launched with the Indonesian army as well as Singapore and Malaysia scouring the area around Belitung, but have been suspended for the night.

What the hell is going on with these missing flights?

I dont know..but the only thing that i know is pray for them and wishing them to return home safely

My heart goes out to the families of the passengers on that flight.

The passengers comprise one Singaporean, one Malaysian, one British, three South Koreans and 149 Indonesians, while the crew consists of six Indonesians and one French (the co-pilot). See the full manifest here.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) confirmed that the Singaporean on board the missing flight is a two year-old girl travelling with her father, the British national. 


QZ8501 lost contact with Indonesian air traffic control at 7:55am local time, 42 minutes after departure and an hour before it was scheduled to land in Singapore.

It would be nice if we had some miracles but I doubt it.  It is so sad that it is happening too often this year. I don't know what am I gonna do if I had to lose my love ones.

I just read that they have found traces of the wreckage in the sea. They have also noticed bodies floating in the area where the plane supposedly crashed.

THREE days after disappearing during a wild storm, Air Asia has confirmed debris found earlier today is that of missing flight QZ8501.

In a statement, the airline read it “regretst o inform that The National Search and Rescue Agency Republic of Indonesia (BASARNAS) today confirmed that the debris found earlier today is indeed from QZ8501, the flight that had lost contact with air traffic control on the morning of 28th December 2014.”
There were 155 passengers on board, with 137 adults, 17 children and 1 infant. Also on board were 2 pilots, 4 cabin crews and one engineer.
Debris from parts of the aircraft, including an emergency door and a life jacket, were found in the Karimata Straight between Sumatra, Java and Borneo, around 110 nautical miles south west from Pangkalan Bun.
The ‘shadow’ of a plane was spotted on the seabed close to the deris.
It came as more than 40 bodies from the missing AirAsia flight QZ8501 had been found along with debris, authorities have confirmed.
The debris was spotted just under 10 kilometres from when it was last seen on radar.

So very sad.  Thinking of the families at this sad time.

Horrible tragedy, the big question is why is there a pattern to this happening.

Bcoz or this tragedy..I am now always keep thinking about my family what would they do if  i was one from all victims of this tragedy..    .. Since i often travelling overseas coz of my job..My sons is  only 6 yr old now..
