Mitt Romney mocked for comment about jet windows

During a Saturday fundraiser in Beverly Hills Mitt Romney expressed his concerns over Ann Romney’s emergency landing on Friday. And he released this little gem:

“When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly, there’s no — and you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem. So it’s very dangerous....” he said.

Obviously his idea doesn’t work scientifically, as one blogger explains: “It'd be like the mile-high club for Seamus, with the added benefit of asphyxiation induced by the low oxygen levels at cruising altitude — assuming that you manage to avoid having the plane rip apart due to the sudden loss of cabin pressure.”

Romney's remark quickly went viral on social media: some are making fun of him, while others think it might be just a joke.

I don't think it was just a joke but it does seem that Romney is doing his best to lose the elections considering the string of uninspired public statements (I've posted some of them here before). This is a joke, of course, I don't really think that he wants to lose the elections. But he seems to be trying

You seem to be pretty current with US politics. Who in your opinion would you vote for in the presidential election if you could? Would be interesting to know what the rest of the world favors in this election.

Also how would you compare Romania politicians vs US politicians as far as campaigning. Would you say their style, flubs and tactics to win votes are pretty much the same?

It would be a tough choice for sure. Then again, I don't have all the necessary information given that I don't live in the US and I don't experience their decisions first hand.

However, it seems that I would have to choose the lesser of two evils, something that I have done in all elections so far in Romania. So I guess there's not a big difference there.
