My daughter's diagnosis

She does have scoliosis which will require surgery. The surgeon wants to do an MRI first to make sure there are no tumors causing the curve. They no longer do the Harrington Rod, which would have required her to be bed ridden for 3-6 months. Because of her high pain tolerance, she will have to be in a cast, but the doctor assured us it will not slow her down. After the rods are in place, because she is not done growing, she will have to go in every 6 months for them to lengthen the rods.  OU childrens is a wonderful hospital. Thank you all for your prayers.

Thanks for the update wmmeden...I will pray for her, and you. I hope all goes well with the surgery. We are all here for you if you need a shoulder to lean on in the stressful time for you. Mommy I have a little cousin who had scoliosis and went thru almost the same process...long story short, she is now 10 years old, is very athletic and active, loves to run, is an avid ice skater, swimmer and just a feisty little girly girl diva!! your baby will be fine,but I will still pray for her fast recovery and for you to stop worrying so much and know it will be all right eventually.

I can not imagine what you and your girl are going through and I just feel so terrible for her.
She is too young to even feel any of that pains and what's worse, it has to be repeated...
You both are so strong and bless you.
