Need help!! Looking for fridge

Hi guys I have a problem... always something going wrong  :'(
My fridge went out today just a little while ago. We lost what little food we had that was supposed to last. Im not so worried about me  but I have a 2 year old grandson that lives with us. So all his milk etc is gone. I have been trying to look for an organization or something that would help maybe get us a new one or old one asap. But I am having no luck what so ever. Any ideas is so greatly appreciated.  :-*

I have called everyone I know.. my mom has an apartment building but she doesnt have anything. this is my luck... oh well life goes on i guess

Hello - I used to work for a community action agency and I constantly got phone calls of people in need for appliances, furniture, etc.  I had a contact information to give to clients on area Free Stores, Agencies, Church Organizations, etc that either offered those type of free items for people in need or where you could buy them at very low cost thru local thrift stores, such as united way, salvation army, veterans, etc.  Maybe you can call Kansas State Community Action (number below) to find YOUR local community action office and they might be able to provide you some area agency numbers that could help you out?  Too bad you weren't in my area, I could hook ya up!!  BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR SEARCH  =)

I don't know if Craigslist operates out there, but you could look in the free sections. Some "May" deliver, most won't though. Or you can post a "I need e fridge" and see what turns up.

Giv...are you or is anyone in your family/household a diabetic? Just thinking of another angle to approach this problem....
I wonder if there is any agency for emergency appliances(refridgerators) for people on insulin is what I'm curious about....

All i can think of is like Salvation Army or Goodwill Industries, maybe even calling your local welfare department, they might have suggestions..

But what a terrible situation, and i hope you can get through it soon, i really feel bad for you.

For a temporary solution you can use one of those styofoam coolers, think they are like 2 bucks fill it it ice to use a fridge for his milk and other iced neccessities, even your sink lined with plastic trash bags filled with ice, i had to do this once a ways back.

Have you checked ebay - free to collector near to you?  I've seen sofas and fridges free to collector over here and wondered if there maybe one near you over there.

I hope you sort something out and quickly.  In the meantime, fill up your sink with cold water and lay your bottle of milk in it to keep it cool or if you have any stoneware, put it in that which will also keep it cool.  Alternatively, if you have a flask, it will stay cold in there.

While you're looking for a fridge, you should get an ad up on Craigslist.com asap, in your area under the "WANTED" section. Also, if you have something you specialize in (crafts, accounting, cleaning/organizing, computer work, etc) you should place an ad under the 'barter' section on Craigslist...someone may need a service you know how to do.

Another great suggestion is Freecycle (it's a yahoo group) Back about 9 years ago, I was close to poor, and got so much free handouts like furniture, clothes, appliances,etc. from pppl that were just giving their stuff away. Everything on this site is absolutely FREE. Please, check your local Freecycle group out first!! And keep looking, because items are taken soon after they are posted.

Thanks for the help guys. I am getting no where I mean no where I did find one for a little money BUT when you dont have any there is nothing you can do... I appreciate it will have to just think of something else.

Not sure if this is available in your area, but I know in my area the electrical company will sometimes assist or can maybe direct you to an organization that can help you. Hope you receive help soon, keep looking and you will find help.
