Next in Line...

Something happened today that made me want to tell the world.. it's miraculous and amazing that in our hard times and this.. recession or whatever it is.. that the goodness and kind hearted people help make our days so bright..

I was on a register today, i had a customer, a man that had 2 kids with him..he rang up some groceries, regular needed items like milk, cereal, eggs, bread.. different cheap meats.. diapers, soaps and cheap cleaning supplies.. some little candies and snacks for the kids..  it was totalled about 62.00, he swiped his debit.. declined and then again declined.. his face dropped and he mumble she leaves me, leaves the kids now she takes my money..he was searching his wallet for other options in which he found none, his child breaks out a 5 dollar bill and says here dad i have my birthday money from gramma is it enough.. he looks at me and says, i'll have to cancel my order.. you could tell that this family was in need, i just had this sense about him.. the father seemly patient and humble and the children bright but poorly dressed..my heart was sinking to have them walk off without their groceries to probably a foodless and motherless household.. then here comes hope.. the customer next in line, a small little woman standing with her grandchild, says how much is it, i said it's 62.70.. she said, don't cancel i'll pay for it.. i couldn't beleive it i was just choked in my throat tryna hold back tears, and the man about dropped to his knees speechless and so was i.. i know that this is something does happen, not alot and i was very taken by it.. (btw i was so taken by this man and his kids i would have done it myself unfortunately if i'm running a register im not allowed to do it,i was saying to myself gosh i wish i could just pay this)..the man turned around and hugged the little woman told her "thank you, if you only knew how much this means to me right now".. im still trying to gain my composure holdin' back tears..  anyways they were on their way.. now heres a little kicker along with this..i totalled up the little womans groceries and guess what...next in line demanded he pay half of her groceries for being so kind to help the other family..it stop there BUT.. what if it just kept on going... it's was a beautiful moment finding and witnessing good will, good faith, big hearts and hope in us.

we are rich.. we are rich indeed..

Incredible imagin.  It just goes to show that there are good and caring people left in this world.  Amazing that the next in line also gave some help too.

It's a shame, in this country and I'm sure a lot of other places, way back in  the day  something like that wasn't a rare occurence,  we used to look out for our neighbors and fellow man a lot more.  I hope we can return to that mentality.

That act of kindness kept flashing in my head, it really did feel so good to have witnessed it as if i had done it myself. I realize the holiday season is coming up and generousity traits will be on high level, that little woman looked as if she could barely afford her own,i'm ashamed to admit that i, in no way expected that outcome, but it is what i always hope for..

There is nothing greater than to 'pay it forward'.  Kudos to the lady for offering to pay and kudos to the man who paid it forward and paid 1/2 her bill to keep the kindness and goodwill to man going.

I bet you couldn't have finished your shift and driven home without a heart full of pride and a smile on your face.
