    Lionsgate has announced plans to remake Dirty Dancing, the 1987 classic film that starred Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze.

    As some of you already know how devoted I am to our beloved Patrick Swayze, I can't help feeling insulted by them even remotely suggesting the idea of touching this classic legend...
    There's no one else can take Patric Swayze's place as Johnny Castle!

    I personally think it's a bad idea but what do you think?

    I don't like the remakes and I couldn't agree more nan. I love me some Karate Kid and the remake was not cool. You can't replace the original and it just doesn't work! Gosh why do they have to mess with a good thing? Out of original ideas I guess.

    I have seen "Some" remakes of great films. Few have even come close to the greatness of the original. BTW NOBODY could outdo Patrick in that film. I truly believe it'll flop!

    I never go to see classic films that are remade. I did see on cable though the remake of Miracle on 34th St and it was horrible!

    Oh I agree, I couldn't believe how they ruined one of the best film, Karate Kid.
    I was so disappointed.
    I am thankful that no one ever tried to remake films like Gone with the wind, Love story...  grin
